The Summer Transfer thread - Part 1.

Really? He's proven not good enough for League one so why would Darby want him for the championship?

Not so much footballworld as footbolloxworld
Tbh he's better than he showed for us this season, or he showed so in the past when he covered at RB and chipped in in midfield.

Then again the amount of times he was beaten due to poor reading of the game this season or whatever makes you question that, when he then cynically hacked his man down time after time.

According to Alan Nixon we are keen on Madden, cant click on the article as dont have his patreon but guessing that’s Paddy madden Ex fleetwood player? Seems a bit strange considering he is 34 but guess he would bring some experience, he was also stockports captain so is a leader

Nixon linking us with Paddy Madden as a possible Rhodes alternative. Would not bode well given that Stockport clearly think he’s not L1 level now. But understandable that we’d have alternatives in mind.

I've heard a whisper about Joe Rafferty ex PNE has been released by Portsmouth. Fullback, wingback & midfield. Make of that what you like.

Madden has just signed for Chesterfield so thats the end of that anyway (think most of us are happy with that) would of been a good signing 7/8 years ago but need much better if we want to be aiming for top 6 next season

Another young prem player we should be looking at who Critch should know all about is Louie Barry from Villa.
He is primarily a striker only 20 and done very well out on loan scoring and making goals and one who I think we could buy and sell on in later years.

Bet he’s Gareth’s lad or Nephew.

Defensive midfielder Daniel Phillips (age 23) is set to leave St Johnstone on a free.
He made the most tackles in the Scottish Prem in 2023 with 92 tackles and is also good on the ball.
We are a bigger club that St Johnstone (our average attendance is 6000 more) so may be able to attract him here with a decent contract offer.

My mate is a Stockport fan and raves about Louie Barry. He'd love him back at county but thinks he'll end up in the championship.

Signed an extension to his contract last year… absolutely no chance of buying him.

Hardly a reliable source (that thinks Owen Dale plays for us) but Will Ferry from Cheltenham is maybe an interesting suggestion.

Does he want to stay down south or will he cross the Mersey (sorry)

As you say, odd source. Big pinch of salt.

Lazy journalism if you ask me.why didn’t he find that out first before printing it in the gazette.
He's not arsed if it's true or not, he is probably paid according to the number of page views he generates! He puts up a piece about every conceivable story, and some inconceivable ones too! Like Joe Bunney's girlfriend. 🤦🏻

Would be a very good signing, potential to be better than Husband and likely on a lower wage.

This article is actually incorrect where it states there would be a fee to pay as Ferry is under 24. He doesn't meet the criteria for the compensation payment as he was already 21 when he signed for Cheltenham.

"The compensation amount is calculated according to a specific equation: the value attributed to the level of training (determined by the country and the calibre of the club) multiplied by the number of years spent training (between the ages of 12 and 21)."
