Tom Trybull put in the window

IMG_6278.jpegDoes anyone know if Trybull has a relegation clause in his contract? Saw this on Twitter. The guy who posted it knows Trybull personally from his time at Norwich.

Utter Ballcocks, he's under contract until summer 2024 with an option for a further year so wouldn't be a free

It's not unusual for players to have release clauses in their contracts, like they can leave for a set fee or free, that are triggered upon relegation, not achieving promotion etc. I'm not saying it's true in Tybull's case but it could be 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wasn't it our former keeper Mark Howard who signed for Bradford for £1 due to a similar clause in his Blackpool contract.

Would be a shame as he’s possibly THE outstanding talent in League 1 based on his time at Norwich. But for a move to a bigger club, in a higher division where he’s already a hero you could hardly blame him taking the opportunity with both hands

I don't doubt he has the clause in his contract. I don't doubt he'd be a top player for us in League One if available. I do doubt that Norwich would want him when he hasn't proven his fitness and played barely any football last season. The Norwich podcast guy who tweeted it clearly knows him and wants him to come back, doesn't mean the club have any interest.

Booing by the crowd, while someone in the Long Room shook his head disapprovingly to each Aussie. The ultimate sanction.

Colin Doyle I think

I personally think the 3 players brought in under Appleton in January (Bowler, Rogers, and Trybull) were sold a dream that quickly became a nightmare when McCarthy was appointed.

Bowler never got going and was played out of position.

Trybull got injured.

Rogers struggled early on but seemed the most invested despite not getting loads of minutes and again being played out of position.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Trybull is desperate to get out and get a move to the championship. Also wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a relegation release.

Of course I’m just guessing here.

If he wants to go, wouldn’t blame him but let’s hope it gets sorted sooner rather than later.

Can't see this one happening as he signed for us last year for a reason and Norwich will certainly look for better.

Would be great to have him for us this season, but also not terribly bothered if he goes since having him is a risk with his injury record and he will be on one of the higher wages.

Dougall and Norburn is still quite some midfield at this level.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we let him go. But for free? Maybe we put a relegation release clause in to get out of paying top end wages for a bit of a sick note if we got relegated?

How would that work, exactly? A release clause only activated if someone else comes in for him doesn’t save any money unless someone comes in for him

More likely he requested it in case he came in, played well and we still went down

Or it could all be cobblers

he’s about as much chance of that move as he has being pivotal to us next year. He’s barely ever finished a full season, and that was before the last couple of injuries and dropping down to a team relegated from the German second division. Absolute waste of money like Bridcutt.

I think your assessment is a bit pessimistic. If well managed and used in the correct role I expect a productive season from him. See, glass half full 👍

Hes hardly ever fit and if he has a relegation clause then its what we negotiated. But i doubt he has.

And we've got King Kenny who isn't a sick note and crowned an excellent L1 season with Critch with two stunning Wembley goals . 👍
Regarding your closing point. Relevance, please?

Is the title header implying that, when he's not fit to fulfill his playing duties (which, I understand, is very often the case with the indidvidual concerned), as a sideline, to supplement his income, Trybull will often look to take on a second job working as a glazier?

Definitely utter shite. As if Norwich would want him. He’s been injured for the best part of 2 seasons

Some people talking on here about the German Bundesliga 2 like it’s a rubbish league… yet Hamburg, Schalke, RB Leipzig, Stuttgart, Hertha Berlin and Hannover have all played in that division recently. Clubs with resources which far outstrip some of the biggest Championship clubs. It’s no weak league. English football isn’t as brilliant as we like to think at times.
