Apparently, 70% of Blackpool folk are from elsewhere, but we all support the community club.

I'll start.

Dad born in Burma as his dad was an RSM stationed in Rangoon.
His dad born in Darlington, but the family lived in Pontefract, so my dad originated from Pontefract.
His mum born in Cork, south coast of Ireland. Died tragically falling on spikes whilst pregnant. Baby died too. My dad was 8.

Mum born in Airdrie. Her entire family from Airdrie, but spread nowadays to Coventry and all over Britain plus Canada and USA.

I was born in Yorkshire.

I am 100% Blackpool through and through. I don't know anyone with 4 grand parents from Blackpool.

Anyone on here with 4 Blackpool born grandparents?
 
I was born Lytham.
Dad Lytham Mum Near Preston.
Grandparents Lytham Nottingham Preston Bradford.
 
Be interesting to hear if anyone has even 4 Fylde Coast born grandparents, let alone from Blackpool.

MIne were all born on the island of Ireland, so I cant contribute
 
I'm actually originally from near Leigh, but parents from Blackpool (Anchorsholme and Layton) - Grandparents all moved to Blackpool in late 1930s/40s from Jarrow, Hebden, Huddersfield and Stretford respectively.

Another poster born in Glenroyd (now a rest home so I could be heading back in a few years). I've lived on the Gold Coast all 61 years so far (14 in Lytham the rest in Blackpool)

Dad was born in Blackpool Mum was born in Manchester

Grandparents - Blackpool, Glasgow (Gorbals), Edinburgh, Manchester (died as POW on Railway of Death, Bridge over River Kwai, Japan)

Great Grandparents Switzerland and Scotland

Mum: Garstang.( All Knobbers though)

Me: Catterall but born in Knobersville 🤪🤛 (Thankful to my Peers)
 
Born in Bury, moved to Cleveleys ages 6.
Mum and Dad both Rochdale
3 grandparents from Rochdale but my maternal grandmother was from Greenwich, London she moved upto Rochdale in the blitz.
 
I am the only member of my family born in Blackpool( 1951) but have lived in Stockport( Cheadle Hulme) since1977.
Mother and Father born in Stockport and Grand Parents too,except one grandfather born in Crewe I believe.
logically I should perhaps support County but it has always been the Mighty for me and strangely eldest brother,his son( my nephew) and his two boys are Blackpool too but all born in Yorkshire and live there too.

Family move to Blackpool when I was 3. I moved back up to the North East in my 20s but been here in Thornton for quite a few years now.

My great great great grandfather was a Scandinavian fisherman shipwrecked of the coast of Southport and never returned home. From that the family ended up in Fleetwood and my Father was born at 46 Park ave Fleetwood.

My mother her sister and 2 brothers where the first generation of that side of the family to be born outside of Belfast. They were all born in Blackpool.

I was born in the Vic and grew up on Nansen Road Fleetwood. Was a Ball boy at Fleetwood 85/86/87 before I turned Tangerine. My dad who passed away end of March this year has always been a Fleetwood fan so always had plenty of banter with him over football.

I did a dna test and I have 0% English in me which is amazing as I would expect to of had some but I don’t.

I class myself as white British but my dna says otherwise.

I was born at Blackpool Vic. Dad originally from Bolton as we’re his parents who moved here when he was about 5. Mum from Blackpool as was her mother & I’m not sure where her father came from as he died in 1958 just before I was born. I can’t ask them any more unfortunately.

Mum was born in a small village near Stoke, moved to Blackpool as a teenager and lived in Blackpool & Cleveleys from then on

Paternal Grandfather born in Staining and lived there his whole life
Paternal Grandmother born in Blackpool and lived in Staining from their marriage onwards

Maternal Grandfather born in Stoke and lived in a small village near Stoke, moved to Blackpool in 1950 and spent the rest of his life there
Maternal Grandmother divorced in 1950 and lost all contact wit the family, never met her and we never talked about her

Been a Blackpool supporter 53 years.
God have I enjoyed the ride.
 
To add to my previous post, my maternal grandparents were from Bolton, in the case of my paternal grandparents, I really don’t know, they weren’t talked about when I was young, given my father was born in Lambeth, I assume his father was, but I really don’t know, his wife, my grandmother, was I believe Welsh, or at least she had a Welsh name, Ruby Williams. I’ve tried all sorts to find out, but even with ancestry it seems impossible.

Absolute nonsense that Blackpool that 70% are from elsewhere. A large number of older people might be but the swathes of people after them were born here. Probably 90% plus are born here.
