Oxford United v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 21.10.23

Probs our toughest test yet. But there’s no reason we can’t win… aside from 11 Oxford players. 🫤
A 2-1 win.

Bit of a tall order they went to derby and brushed them aside who came to us and brushed us aside. 3-1 Oxford

Really hope I'm wrong but Saturday has an inevitable defeat written all over it. Maybe I am preparing for the worst and that outcome. I just don't think we have enough quality to make such a statement to the league. I feel sick writing that beating the mighty Oxford would be a statement. Really should be the other way round.

Yep it’s that real play maker we are missing, somebody who can turn with the ball and go forward.
However 100% we have a good chance with the players we have.

They’re a confidently chirpy lot, over on the Oxford site. No doubt they’re expecting the Blackbird Leys ‘Massive’, to outsing the Pool following. Can’t ever see that happening. Should be a close game - so everyone on tenterhooks.

We beat Coventry at the end of October then didn’t get another league win till mid February. Can’t see that happening again.

I'd take a draw now. We have started playing well, Rhodes is on form but they have scored loads this season and are up there on merit. We have also only won 1 away so they are clear favourites.

Come on Pool, we can win there but all the stats say it is unlikely.

A point would be a good result, and hopefully we can keep the momentum going with another encouraging performance. Still early days really.

We did in the cup, obviously on that Tuesday night we got hit on the break, but it was a Tuesday night game and we usually struggle there.

Worth a £20 punt on an away win at 3/1 odds which are now slightly reduced.

Maybe the news of injuries and sickness in Oxford camp have come to light.

This one might define our season. Win and we are really in the mix, draw or lose, and we have to go playoffs again.

Nick a win for the Mighty
