Anthony Grant

Swindon fans seem convinced he’ll stay, the reason?because he messaged a fan saying don’t listen to rumours 🥴

Do they not think some of these players would have signed by now if they wanted to stay on terms Swindon could afford?

Exactly Grayth, they were 100% convinced Yates was signing for them and gave us little hope in him coming here.

Keshi told Swindon fans he was staying last month, that one didn’t go well for them.

Hope there is nothing in this one, sorry but it doesn’t do anything for me 33 years old and been playing in a lower league, sure we can do better.

Apparently he just let slip on an instagram live stream which has now been deleted according to Swindon fans on twitter:

Crazy that.. if true it basically confirms he's coming here

He could be a useful squad player and mentor to the younger talent at the club. Swindons player of the season apparently...

Saying that, I hope we’ll be aiming slightly higher for a first teamer to be honest.

Looking more likely grant is coming to you guys... not just the Keshi vid but the talk of current players at stfc.
Good luck to all Of them. You Obviously have more attractive offerings and desires to be going places.
granty would be 1 missed the most
Keshi - overrated for a player who was the highest earner last year.
yates wasn’t an stfc To player to lose
granty- general, bossed everything but has to be managed well. And at 33 is a risk for a league above.

What sort of midfielder is Grant? It sounds like he's a deep lying/defensive midfielder. He appears to be a unit, which is never a bad thing in L1. What are his other key attributes?

Maybe we are offering more attractive terms... but I'm sure I stand for the majority of our fans when I say that I don't want our transfer dealings to generate animosity between our clubs (not that your post suggested it... just what I've seen on social media) . More likely it's a compliment to the team that's been built by yourselves.

If it were the other way round I'd be proud that we'd done well enough to warranty other teams looking at our squad wondering who they could pinch. I hope at the end of next season teams will be looking at our squad with envious eyes.

Swindon's player of the season wasn't he? Breaks up play ahead of the defensive line and gets attacks started.

I have also heard a very exciting snippet from a super reliable source, which would be another signal of intent (No.... it's not Charlie Adam!!)

KDH by any chance? Seen a few rumours floating about him today

Not at this time, i may send a message to someone on here I know so I can come back to take the plaudits or get kicked around the playground!

If it comes off then it will have some mixed reactions on here, as is the nature of this place!!

We’ve got better arcades - you can play Gauntlet for 20p

Not Brad Potts again

Goalkeeper or defender?

Yeah, breaks up play, does all the dirty work the creative guys are ‘scared’ to do. Great engine for 90mins for a 33yo. Has a high opinion of himself and fell out with previous managers.

Nah, a ‘rivalry’ seems to have been formed over a more established league 1 club wanting the successful players of a promotion winning league 2 club... understandable.
STFC are never ‘rich’ and push the wage boundaries so they always seem to spend preseason rebuilding. This year felt different. Then covid happened. Oh well.
the cheek is it seems is every player stfc had / has is linked. NC and RW seem similar style managers with attack minded football so the interest in similar players would be expected.
stfc annoyance is AG verbally agreed to sign next season and now seems (potentially) to have chosen a different route. And if he does indeed stay at stfc the insta vid with KA and JY won’t do much good relationship wise.

Wet wipe alert!

To be hones I would be astounded if it came off, I just can't see it, but you never know.

I can categorically say though that it isn't anyone that has ever played for, plays for or is being linked with Swindon Town!! 🙃

Sounds exciting! It is good that the club finally has a bit of ambition and personally I feel about as good as I’ve ever felt before the start of the season.

Whatever happens in the league in ‘20-‘21, good or bad, you cant doubt that the right intent is there from the ownership & management team and that’s the vast majority of the battle in my view.

There's some twitter stuff with Keshi, Yates and Grant meeting up in Manchester today which could very easily lead you to believe that Grant will be our next signing. Captain material?
