Is Jodie Comer any relation to John Comer who played Sid the cafe owner in Last of the summer wine?

He lived on Warley Rd just up from Charlie Cairoli.

Went in the Devonshire Arms too-very nice guy from all accounts.
I was reading about Jimmy Clitheroe the other day who lived on Bispham Road across the way from the old Arnold Girls school. He used to go down to the Squirrel apparently to play snooker when of course it had the old vaults.

That’s my stomping ground 🤗 excellent!

Off the top of my head, so I will probably disagree with myself straight away, Nicola Walker and James Norton (he may be lost to tinseltown now though).

On Bispham chat too then!

Well you've both corrected this simple south shore lad tonight. I always thought that was called Greenlands!!
Just looked it up - changed from Arnold Girls School in '75

As for current actors, yep , would have to go for Jodie Comer (if only for her range of accents), with an honourable mention for Shaun Evans (Endeavour Morse) EDIT - how could I have forgotten James Norton - good shout

A shout out for Judy Flynn or Julie Taylor who was sixth form at St Marys some 30 years ago. Starred in First of the Summer Wine and the Brittas Empire amongst other things.

Going back a bit I would say Philip Jackson for his believability as Inspector Japp and his role in Brassed Off. Currently though, Sarah Lancashire and Rebecca Front for the actresses; Roger Allam and Idris Elba for the actors.
