Oxford have signed Matt Taylor from Bristol City on a permanent - really good signing - and don't know if it was mentioned but Sunderland had pre-tax losses of almost £11 million - the days of shit of bust gone at the Stadium of Light?

Cackems: Now shit AND bust

Oxford: trying to get all the loanees back bar Woodburn, but likely have to sell Dickie at the back. Certainly one of the early favourites given the state of the clubs coming down

It's not easy to predict, L1 does throw up the odd shock, like last season. What I would say is the likes of Sunderland and Ipswich are volatile clubs in the sense they have big expectations but serious issues behind the scenes. The smaller clubs like Rochdale, Burton and Accy could be massivley impacted. Then you have the promoted sides who are unknown to an extent. We are still a little short but I'm sure the squad will be trimmed and strengthened in the next couple of weeks. The fact we have brought them back early and have a strong core, should give us an advantage over many clubs. Our big unknown is the manager, for all his coaching credentials we still have no idea. I like the cut of his jib and suspect he could be a shrewd appointment but we will only find that out in the next few months. I'm just delighted we are now a positive club, with ambitions to keep improving. We have a chance and are definitely one of the teams people will be keeping an eye on.
