Well if he manages to save Fleetwood it’s a massive from me because Critchley is not the answer.not at the moment.
What about former managers - BowyerThe love in with former players need to stop.
If Critchley can't write the ship, the next manager needs to be someone fresher whose never been at the club (*cough* Pete Wild *cough*).
But some time in the not too distant future I'd say yes.not at the moment.
On what grounds? But some time in the not too distant future I'd say yes.
A win ratio of 1 in 7.On what grounds?
On the grounds that he talks wisely about football and has done since he was with us. He is thoughtful and wants to get on in management. I said in 2010 that he'd manage us one day and I still believe that. As for the Cods, Pep couldn't get much of a tune out of that club.On what grounds?
What were you basing that on in 2010? Sorry, Charlie was class for us as a player but being a great player doesn’t make a great manager and the guy is thick as two short planks. He certainly wasn’t being thoughtful when he chose to drink drive. People need to get over this obsession of constantly linking us with ex players. Is it 1 win in 7 so far at Fleetwood? You can say not even Pep could get a tune out of that club but he took the job and they’re seemingly the only ones offering him a managerial position so what does that tell youOn the grounds that he talks wisely about football and has done since he was with us. I mean what I say. Watching his interviews on the season dvd (2009/10) I liked how he spoke about football. I see no reason why he can't succeed like Evo has. What were you basing that on in 2010? ‘66, they can all talk the talk mate, you never hear a manager come to a new club and say this is a disaster, we will be lucky if we survive.I mean what I say. Watching his interviews on the season dvd (2009/10) I liked how he spoke about football. I see no reason why he can't succeed like Evo has.
You sounded like the perfect fit in the first half of your post.‘66, they can all talk the talk mate, you never hear a manager come to a new club and say this is a disaster, we will be lucky if we survive.
They all must be given a book once they’ve earned their coaching badges.
Entitled:- “How to appeal to owners and supporters”
Phrases like:-
“This is a great club, steeped in history and I’m honoured to be a part of it”
“The supporters at this club are magnificent, probably the best in the Country”
“The owner of the club has plans to progress and I want to be part of that journey”
“This club will win trophies “
Etc, etc, etc.
Next time a manager takes over at whatever club I guarantee his first interview will contain some of the above.
We hear it too many times, “he spoke very well so will be good for us.” when actually it means naff all.
Imagine:-
“The owner is a tosser and a tight fcuker as well”
“The squad players are lazy and don’t give a monkey’s as long as they are getting paid.”
“I’ve never know a more fickle bunch of supporters in my life”
I personally would take interviews with a pinch of salt.
coming home! He’s Scottish and has played with probably half a dozen clubs.Get your apprenticeship served in readiness for coming “home”!
Away at Brizzle Rovers tonight and hope the 32 Cods fans aren't emptying their car boots to bring back 3 points!
Win ratio is awful ?. You talk like he's been in charge for months . 3 games undefeated including 2 wins , none conceded is already a huge turnaround for where Fleetwood were a month or so backI’d take him in the future if he proves himself. Football is a results business but it’s to early for him at our place at the moment.like some have said his win ratio is awful at this moment in time.
As for playing for six clubs in. Scotland he also played for a few in England, his most successful period being with us.
Good luck to him he’s giving it a go.
Hold on! I was at Swindon with Pool in 86 when there were about 90 Pool there !!87 Cods there tonight according to the Bristol commentators
Nothing of the sort, I was quoting another poster on his win ratio. I was merely saying I’d take him in the future in answer to other posts depending on what he does not was he’s done in three games.Win ratio is awful ?. That's equal to us taking 435 (Blackpool 5x population of Fleetwood)87 Cods there tonight according to the Bristol commentators

you mean ONE supporter for every year. or neasrly.Hold on! I was at Swindon with Pool in 86 when there were about 90 Pool there !!

We were getting similar attendances to what Fleetwood get now back in ‘86. Grim times!Hold on! I was at Swindon with Pool in 86 when there were about 90 Pool there !!
I don’t even bother listening to what a new player has to say when we’ve signed them “err yeah just happy to err be here err big club” bit like critchley presser every week “err yeah they’re a hard working team err tough to beat err we need to concentrate on our own game” when really in the back of his head he’s thinking “I’m gonna give this 5,3,2 formation another shot this week if we do the same thing we have all season it’ll totally throw them off guard”‘66, they can all talk the talk mate, you never hear a manager come to a new club and say this is a disaster, we will be lucky if we survive.

To be fair Wiz, they had a little further to travel! We took 651

Nothing no do of course that our game was a Saturday afternoon and this one was a Tuesday night and a team who were bottom of the league. We took 651
Let's just see how many we take to Cheltenham next week. I'd bet its a lot more than 200 and it's only about 40 miles less.Nothing no do of course that our game was a Saturday afternoon and this one was a Tuesday night and a team who were bottom of the league.
I doubt anymore than 200 Pool fans would have made the trip on a Tuesday night so the comparison we took hundreds more makes it sound rather silly.
I’m not denying or saying anything about the Cheltenham game for one minute.Let's just see how many we take to Cheltenham next week. I'd bet its a lot more than 200 and it's only about 40 miles less.

It’s just the comparison you made earlier given one game was a Saturday and one was a Tuesday night was unfair.
Not like you though to have a dig is it.
