Ironically our most improved player was coached by Adkins not Critchley.
Interesting manager. To me he never really fulfilled his potential as a manager as with many of his peers. Shame as you wish they would.I’d take Adkins now over Critchley.

Both. I’d add Mowbray, Holloway, pullis and Ronnie Moore to that list. Also clough and fergie jr. It’s as though they stop learning/growing and hit a ceiling. Also why a good number two is important. Is that Adkins or Critchley - or both?
It saddens me to agree with you, but you are correctUnfortunately several of our players have gone significantly backwards in the past season in terms of their performances
I always believed Critchley’s big plus point was his development of young players. Some players, like Lavery, have lost his mojo. CJ looks scared of the ball and opposition players and has not been given the opportunity to use his pace; Husband now makes Mistakes; Connolly looks like he is running in sand; Grimshaw’s positioning and command of the box is questionable; Norburn looks disinterested. We are not going to find it easy to attract quality youngsters anymore. It saddens me to agree with you, but you are correct
The reality is there's an awful lot of luck in football management, and even the best manager can have a run of injuries, bad refereeing decisions and just general bad luck, and get the boot as a result.Both. I’d add Mowbray, Holloway, pullis and Ronnie Moore to that list. Also clough and fergie jr. It’s as though they stop learning/growing and hit a ceiling. Also why a good number two is important.
What about Lyons?I always believed Critchley’s big plus point was his development of young players. Some players, like Lavery, have lost his mojo. Following Apter, I’ve listened to quite a few of his pre and post match interviews.Interesting manager. To me he never really fulfilled his potential as a manager as with many of his peers. Shame as you wish they would.
Except we can't cos loans don't work like that.Goals win games. When it’s official we have nothing to play for we should bring him back and give him a run wait for it….in his preferred position.
Except he's on loan to the end of the season. Why do people not know about the limitations of the transfer window?Goals win games. When it’s official we have nothing to play for we should bring him back and give him a run wait for it….in his preferred position.
We’re not all wizards are we wiz. You know for a fact no recall clause? Very stupid if true as he should be cover for injuries.Except he's on loan to the end of the season. Why do people not know about the limitations of the transfer window?
There's this thing called the "transfer window", RA is currently registered as a Tranmere player, he can only register again as a Blackpool player in the "transfer window".We’re not all wizards are we wiz. You know for a fact no recall clause? Very stupid if true as he should be cover for injuries.
There’s this thing called a recall clause. Smart loans have them so that they have cover if the unexpected occurs. It’s called being prudent. There's this thing called the "transfer window", RA is currently registered as a Tranmere player, he can only register again as a Blackpool player in the "transfer window".
Guess you forgot about Rhodes.Back to O/P. Could he still be our player of the season even though he's not played a game for us Can't think of any other contenders.
Certainly gives a strong shout for most improved doesn’t he?Back to O/P. Could he still be our player of the season even though he's not played a game for us Can't think of any other contenders.
Nope not our player and he ‘s not really improved. He’s dropped a division and rediscovered his shooting boots. In a slower division he’s enjoying an Indian summer which makes us all feel good and may well have saved Critchley’s job for him.Guess you forgot about Rhodes.
Why would he want to go there on a permanent transfer, surely he'll be looking at moving up to L1 at least, if not with us, then I'm sure there'd be plenty of other L1 clubs interested, maybe even a Championship one or two.Tranmere will buy him in the summer, you watch. The new contract will just mean a higher fee.
You can't include clauses that would breach the rules of the competition, even if we did, then he couldn't play for us, because that's what the rules of the competition say. There’s this thing called a recall clause. You can have a break clause. You can't include clauses that would breach the rules of the competition, even if we did, then he couldn't play for us, because that's what the rules of the competition say.
The rules of the competition say that he can't move outside a transfer window, there is no way we can recall him now, that's the end of it.
I wouldn’t be in a rush to get back if I was him unless I knew I was going to be a starter in a system that suited me. He’s learning his trade, scoring goals, enjoying himself and in a shop window. All better than sitting on a bench, played out of position or having mediocre service. Why would he want to go there on a permanent transfer, surely he'll be looking at moving up to L1 at least, if not with us, then I'm sure there'd be plenty of other L1 clubs interested, maybe even a Championship one or two.
He'll be here next season, that's my bet.
Sure, but you can't register him as your player, in which case, what's the point? You can have a break clause.
He's proved himself in L2, it's time to move up a level, that's the whole plan.I wouldn’t be in a rush to get back if I was him unless I knew I was going to be a starter in a system that suited me. He’s learning his trade, scoring goals, enjoying himself and in a shop window. All better than sitting on a bench, played out of position or having mediocre service.
You wouldn’t get the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola taking risks with their young players would you.I wouldn’t be in a rush to get back if I was him unless I knew I was going to be a starter in a system that suited me. He’s learning his trade, scoring goals, enjoying himself and in a shop window. All better than sitting on a bench, played out of position or having mediocre service.
Fans would kick off at that one if that actually happened. Can’t see it happening at all.Tranmere will buy him in the summer, you watch. The new contract will just mean a higher fee.
Exclude Rhodes and you’ve seen the quality of his goals do you honestly think he brings less to the table than some who are in our team each week? He's proved himself in L2, it's time to move up a level, that's the whole plan.
Start in NPL, move up to NLN, then NL, if the player can manage that then it's time for L2 and after that L1 and then keep going as far as he can.
There are no recall clauses in any loan. We’re not all wizards are we wiz. You know for a fact no recall clause? Very stupid if true as he should be cover for injuries.
So how come we almost had meltdown on here when we all heard Udders might recall Rhodes back in January? There are no recall clauses in any loan.
Absolutely I know it for a fact, and I suspect 99% of this board know that as well.
No, I think he's probably ready for the step-up to L1, but the EFL rules say that he can't do that until next season.Exclude Rhodes and you’ve seen the quality of his goals do you honestly think he brings less to the table than some who are in our team each week?
The recall could have happened in the transfer window same for Apter. So how come we almost had meltdown on here when we all heard Udders might recall Rhodes back in January?
I’m not disagreeing with you by the way for one minute.
As I said previously, recalls can only occur in the windows. We're not in one.So how come we almost had meltdown on here when we all heard Udders might recall Rhodes back in January?
I’m not disagreeing with you by the way for one minute.
If you remember, we did actually recall Apter for a couple of weeks before sending him back to Tranmere. The recall could have happened in the transfer window same for Apter.
You can't name your squad(twice as season)then change it mid way through as loans count towards total number.
