The other point to remember here is yes QPR refused us permission to speak to Eustace, but, he was interested in the role. This to me shows more and more we are an attractive proposition to quality candidates. Our stock is rising. Look at Crichley, very highly regarded by Liverpool, Klopp believes in him and his methods, co ing from the premier league champions elect, contacts galore with the Liverpool academy system and plays the Liverpool away. 12/18 months ago he would have pissed himself them told us to bugger off....now....different story...he may well come. Times have changed! The audacity this board have to try and approach someone who is so highly thought of by his current employers they have turned down our request to speak to him.
Hardly panic stations.
I honestly can’t understand why, under Oyston, there were all sorts of Nobby Nonames willing to take the job on, yet now we have an owner who’s heart is really in the club, allegedly nobody is interested!
It's not that no one wants it....its the quality of candidate we want means the successful people we approach we cant get to as their clubs (unsuprisingly) do not want to loose them and therefore will not let them speak to us. Its a compliment to us as I see it.I honestly can’t understand why, under Oyston, there were all sorts of Nobby Nonames willing to take the job on, yet now we have an owner who’s heart is really in the club, allegedly nobody is interested!
The difference between the Oyston board & the Sadler board is that Oystons were only interested in managers who were out of contract or risking playing staff already on the books, as managers (Grayson, Ince, Ferguson).I honestly can’t understand why, under Oyston, there were all sorts of Nobby Nonames willing to take the job on, yet now we have an owner who’s heart is really in the club, allegedly nobody is interested!
That honestly never happens in football. You name me one other club who's acted in this way and has kept on approaching multiple clubs for their managers in such a short space of time?I wouldn’t say it was a scattergun approach, I would imagine that there is a list of potential candidates the club would like to speak to, if those people are already employed, it is only right to seek permission from there employers. Just because we have asked to speak to a potential coach/manager doesn’t mean we have offered him the job. It makes sense to speak to as many as possible to assess who may be more suited to the position. This doesn’t mean that any of them are first choice, as that decision would only be made after speaking to a number of candidates .
Hmmmm, you could be right, hope you’re notWe are only approaching people we can't get approval for, so that this board can appoint "Hecky" and say well at least we tried...
