Doncaster Rovers v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 24.11.20

Very frustrating. I’ll try and take the positives in the we looked excellent for 45 minutes, and there was a definite penalty not given at the end which would have given the opportunity to get a draw away from home.

The 44 minutes inbetween however was really bad.
Yes , game of two halves , lessons from both
postive first , negative second and again thou poor ref for pool

An offside goal, a soft penalty and a pretty damn nailed on hand ball.

Welcome to the bullshit world of League One refereeing.

As much as we should have had a pen at the end, we can't blame the officials there. Poor half from us and we let them win it - the buck stops with us I'm afraid. Not sure how you're calling it offside with a camera situated at the half way line, either.

Oh well. Great performance first half... The team are clicking, that's clear. Maybe we were a little niave second half.

Gutted about the result but there are more positives than negatives. I'd be concerned if we'd lost after being shit and ragging a couple of goals in the first half but that wasn't the case.

That was hard to watch. Esp last ten minutes. 15 more min with those subs n we could have won it. Bet Doncaster cant believe that 3 points. Neither can I.
However I rather feel we ll bounce back from that. Players and manager should all be kicking themselves

Totally gutting that. Can't put a finger on that 2nd half. Maybe we were too casual in the 2nd half?

I absolutely cannot believe that a penalty was not awarded at the end there. The lad controlled the ball completely with his right forearm.

I thought their pen was a good challenge. The ref knows it his hand but didn’t want to give it. Really bad standard. His general referring was poor but the big decisions were perverse

We'll be flirting with the bottom 4 again. Is it a lost season under Critchley?
No it’s not, with our upturn recently it’s been encouraging, we are not going to win every game . NC will hopefully recognise he’s made mistakes tonight, not the end of the world as long as he learns.
I’m convinced from January February we will go on a decent run. Be patient.

also .... as an aside .... i can't understand why you wouldn't play your best defender?

I see the in fighting has started because we've lost once after five straight wins. Laughable.
It’s not so much we’ve lost it’s how we’ve lost. If Critchley thought we were doing well up to 80 minutes either there is something wrong with me or him, and I don’t think it’s me.

Sorry but the goals were cheap, offside or not it should have been defended better and we allowed them far too much of the ball the whole game. The other goals and chances we gave them second half were bad.

Its funny because we started the season saying we want to dominate the ball, when it didn't get results we almost gave it up somewhat in favour of more long balls to madine.

We let in far too many easy goals.

Let's face it we have improved in areas and will still do so but going nowhere this season. Too much inexperience and lack of know how at times.

Can't believe how easily we gave that fam hard earn lead away and to come away with nothing is pathetic.

Ill have to see the Dougall challenge again but I thought it looked a penalty. He definitely fucked the offside and the handball up though.

Excellent for 45 minutes, a pity is a 90 minute game.
