The results published today based on just the first jabs are very encouraging both in stopping spreading and catching covid and it appears all over 40's will be done by end of March. There is talk about foreign hols with a cert so we should be able to attend soon showing a Vac Cert? Are the clubs going to push this with the EFL? What will in feel like to go into Bloomfield and away grounds again🙂

Unfortunately it won't be all over 40s, by the end of March or any other time, given that some people will not have the vaccine, which is their right, whether or not others agree with that decision.

Plus there is also the 2nd vaccine. My brother, who was on the governments extremely vulnerable list and has had his first vaccine is not due for his second one until late on in April.

And what’s your thoughts on relaxing of restrictions if some people refuse the vaccine ? Do you feel we should all be kept locked up for several more months or longer depending on those that refuse to have it ?

Certainly don't think we will be back this sesson. If the vsst majority have had both jabs by August I can sed us being back. May still be a requirement to wear masks though

I just don't trust what's in the vaccine. I'll take my chance with the virus.
I would attend BR if they would let me in without taking the vaccine.
I'm sure this must be a wind-up.
Do you use a mobile phone? Do you not realise that GCHQ listen to everything you say or text and know where you are 24/7/365?

Low quality masks wouldn’t be the answer. They help a little bit but ultimately offer low protection- we’ve said this from the start. It’s the Gov fault for not sorting enough medical grade masks, or not telling folk to double mask, both of which offer high protection. Plus, if you need to wear a mask all day for work etc, you should be changing to a new mask(s) every 3-4 hours.

Next season probably can't see it this but I want guarantees that if there is another spike and we ain't allowed in for games next time round we will be compensated.
The club have had the back end of 19/20 and all this campaign in ST money X2 off me and for what I earn the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

The vaccine protects you for getting really ill but more importantly stops you passing it on to others so we ALL have a responsibiltity as good citizens to take it if offered.
What evidence are you referring to here Threepeaksphil? I haven't seen anything that says the vaccine STOPS you passing it on. There is some evidence 'apparently' that it slows transmission, but that's about it. So, in my view, I think having the vaccine comes down to a personal decision. If you are more vulnerable - elderly, have a disability, are significantly overweight etc - then it makes sense to have it, although I doubt it will be as effective as they make out against all the different strains out there. But if you are below 50 and reasonably healthy you have more chance of being run over by a car than dying from Covid, so I don't see why anyone in this group needs to take something that may not give them any benefit and may possible have a negative impact that nobody really knows yet or is prepared to tell anyone about. Bringing it back to the football, I think the turnstyles will reopen after Easter and there should absolutely be no vaccine discrimination whether you have had it or not....

You've had the chance of a refund, why didn't you take up the offer and get your money back.

Me too Bispham. I had my 1st on 21/12/2020, was told I'd have the 2nd on Jan 12 or 13th.
Still waiting.

There's a lot of flaws in that study regarding wearing masks and the spread of Covid. Wearing a mask is only one of the precautions, social distancing and regularly washing hands are just as important. A true study would have one half of the people wearing masks and socially distanced and the other half sat next to a Covid infected "spreader" in a contained room for a period of hours. Then measure the infection rate.

I think Boris is taking some flack from backbenchers and the way the data is atm i think we could be pleasantly surprised.
Had my Jab last Sunday and been feeling like shit up until today, so i would hate to think what the virus would have done to me.

With the vaccine going on at min i cant see any fans in the season , But you would like to think next season fans will be allowed in as most people will have there jabs

In answer to Atletico Seasider I always check out the Newspaper front pages each day and Daily Telegraph today says jabs reduce transmission by two thirds which is wonderful news. With regards to masks, in places like South Korea they have had 86,000 cases and 1,550 deaths and masks are worn by most people. The main benefit of wearing a mask, as recommended by the WHO is stopping the wearer spreading in to others. Glad my posting started an interesting debate, lets see what Boris says on Monday but things are getting better thanks goodness.

You may be prepared to take your chance, but I don’t want you to take a chance with my life. Your attendance in the past has no doubt been welcome so thank you and good bye.
I won't be taking a chance with your life as you most probably would have had the vaccine. Unless you doubt the vaccine's effectiveness.

I have been wearing double or even triple layered mask from the start. Common sense really

That's where their argument falls down from the Vaccine Police.

You going to check everyone has had the jab in a public space good luck with that because it ain't happening and to try and enforce at a football game outside is ridiculous.

A vaccine can reduce the chance of infection. No vaccine is 100% effective, if it was no one would ever contract influenza. If you don’t wish to be vaccinated that is your choice, and I will support your freedom to choose 100%. However you could still infect other people and I don’t think that is your choice to make. If you don’t have the vaccine don’t go to crowded places, simple.

So you stopping all the under 18's attending BR as they ain't getting the jab?

Yes, it is common sense and a bit more official guidance from the start would have been a big help, considering the amount of misinformation out there.
Heard a few days ago that even with basic cotton masks, protection goes up to approx 94% (from around 40% single) - assuming fitted and handled correctly

I don't think we will go the way of a vaccine passport apart from foreign travel perhaps. For several reasons, policing it, causing even more division & trouble & forgeries. Plus the need for exemption certificates for those who medically can't have it & those youngsters who will be the last to have the opportunity to get it (if at all)
Do we really want some vein bulging conspiracy theorists giving it large! after all the shit we've had to endure. I'll be having the jab as soon as I get the nod & after that I should be less likely to expire from Coronavirus, especially when I've had the second one. The people mainly at risk will be the older ones who for whatever reason choose not to be vaccinated. 🙄
As for returning to Bloomfield Rd, I've written this season off bar another very limited effort possibly.

Hold on a sec it's called debating that's what this site is for no one is arguing. You took a pop about someone who is not having the jab and then I asked a simple one about what you going to do with the under 18's you run for cover.

A couple of your quotes it's you that has a fear of going out not anyone under 50 so get the jab and carry on wearing the mask because this disease will never be eradicated.

Tell it to the relatives of the almost 2.5 million people who have died worldwide.

no offence to you and im sure you are a nice chap but you were being a tosser with Gaz and now you have been tied up in knots about it.You deserve that for making one of our own feel unwelcome.

If I caught the virus off someone with Gaz attitude, I would consider him very unwelcome.

What on earth are you on about the O/P is about attending games and then you waded in because someone is not having the jab and won't attend if you have to prove to get in BR that you've been vaccinated.

So I'll ask you again for the thousandth time what you going to do with the under 18's?

I didn’t ‘Wade in’ because he didn’t want the jab. If you read my posts, I defended 100% his right to choose. I also said he didn’t have the right to infect others, I stand by what I said.

I don't want you to take a chance with my life.

I'd say that's a pretty strong statement wouldn't you?
And still nothing on the U18's?

No I don’t, as I have already said no vaccine is 100% effective. But the more people have it the less chance of transmission, not having it is a free choice. Not being infected by someone else would be my choice, unfortunately I don’t have that choice. Nothing will change that fact, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on it or that I can’t express that opinion. It’s a pity you can’t understand that.

It still hasn't been proven that after having the jab you can't carry on infecting people so what dont I understand it's the other way around I'm afraid. 👍

That’s one thing we can agree on, I have said several times no vaccine is 100% effective. I don’t want to continue this debate, but in answer to your repeated question re. under 18s, some have already been vaccinated so your assertion they are not being done is I’m afraid incorrect.

What those with outstanding health problems where as 99% won't have been vaccinated next time BR is open massive swerve but hey your bowing out. 👍
