Are things finally playing into our hands?

20 games left, probably on better pitches as the weather improves and several of our star players still to return........isn’t it good being a Seasider at the moment πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌ
Hopefully.

Great results last 2 games without playing scintillating stuff for large parts.

Key players on the way back hopefully.

Need to carry on improving and create more chances, Cj, madine etc would obviously help that.

Today was solid with a few moments of class.

Going the right way.

I had my doubts a few weeks ago, and still do to be fair (purely because we're playing catchup). But it is really promising that we are finding ways to win when playing without key players, and not playing particularly well.
Today we had a left back at centre half, and were missing Hamilton, Anderson and Madine (our three main routes to goals so far this season, Yates aside) and yet we still found a way. Great to see.

I have no doubt that if we were in the stadium for the remaining games we'd make automatic. As it is I'm still confident we'll make the playoffs πŸ‘
I hope SS is enjoying his investment.

I said at the top of the official match thread that this game would go some way to showing where we really are as a Club. Well, it is clear to me that we're hard to beat. We want to retain possession rather than be speculative in front of goal. We don't panic when things are looking bogged down. We look like the squad has gelled on and off the pitch.
Is that enough to get us up this season? I doubt it. Teams that look promotion-bound have the knack of scoring regularly. We don't look like that at present. Yes, we have players to return to contention but it's getting late in the season.
I think I'm looking at a team that will be on the verge of the play-offs - may even get there. But, I think our time will be next season.
PS. If we do go up I will happily eat my hat.

The form statistics speak for themselves. We're grinding the results out.. Just wait until we hit a purple patch - hopefully we peak at the right time. We seem to have a history of doing that.....

Getting late in the season???? There’s still 20 games left mate πŸ‘πŸΌ

I

I’m sure he is mate πŸ‘πŸΌ You never know with the way the vaccine rollout is going we might be in for a promotion celebration πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
I love the fact he stays in the background and isn't a mouthpiece unlike his predecessors, but It'd be good to hear from him πŸ‘

Our amazing defence gives us the platform, preventing teams from scoring allows us to nick games 1 nil with a moment of magic or luck. There is no denying we have creativity issues going forward, proven by our lack of goals and consistently only winning by 1 goal when we do.

Today has filled me with confidence defensively for the rest of the season, we stopped the 2nd top scorers in the league in their own ground from scoring with a full back playing centre half. It will be interesting to see what the return of CJ does to our goal scoring record.

If we get four points or more from Doncaster and Charlton, added to yesterday that puts in tremendous shape for the next five games, look at the fixtures four of which are at home to Crewe Wimbledon Fleetwood and Burton with MK Don's away in the middle of them.

Its happening lads. Get on. Still 7/1 for Promotion πŸ‘

We were saying all this before our games with Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers, As the old cliche goes, one game at a time. In other words don't get too up with a win and don't get too down with a defeat when it comes to where we will be at the end of the season.

That list of teams (above) are exactly the sorts of team that we have lost against this season. Could it be the dreaded disease of complacency?

9/1 last night on Sky bet.
I've put another tenner on.

I agree mate

We are so lucky to have an owner who will back the manager and help cover up his mistakes

I don't think any other club in our league could sign Championship players like Dougall and Stewart after the season has started

Utp ...

I think the comment about our pitch is very relative. I noted that one Doncaster fan mentioned the state of our pitch in previous seasons but obviously hasn't seen it this season. Posh looks as though they are playing on a plowed field, but they are used to it as Tranmere were to theirs last season. Ipswich's pitch looks very heavy and muddy in the corners and even Portsmouth's pitch was showing signs of wear.

Our pitch will have some heavy use over the next month or so, so it will all depend on the skill of our groundsman and his team whether or not it remains that way. I am, however, positive we will maintain our excellent facilities.

Simon has certainly backed us and Critch financially......onwards and upwards πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌ

Accrington's home results seem to be getting affected now by their poor pitch. 2 draws and a loss in their last 3 home games. Teams know how they will have to play due to the conditions narrowing down options.

That Accrington pitch is an embarrassment. I’m glad we have already played those tin pot East Lancashire nobodys away

Are you not a Critchley fan then?
