The three sports you love to play

As much as I love football, and loved playing it, I wasn't very good so even in our regular 5-a-side I always felt a bit inadequate alongside my mates, who were all decent players.
So mine would be
Crown bowls
Golf
Snooker (when I could still see the other side of the table)

Football
Table tennis
Fly fishing
Badminton
Volleyball
Tennis
Shove ha penny
Etcetc. Basically owt really.
That said not very keen on stuff done on snow

Getting on a bit now, and unfortunately let my fitness slide, but 3 sports I participated in at a decent level -

Boxing
Orienteering
Kayaking.

Always enjoyed football but never any better than average.

Can I count the “Anchorsholme Wall Game”? Its the only thing i play regularly now I can’t run any more.

It was invented by my dog, we go on the beach and he finds a bit of sloping sea wall with a nice bit of sand at the bottom. He runs to the top of the slope and releases a tennis ball which rolls down the slope and I have to kick it back up to him while he assumes a goalkeepers position.

If I’m not accurate enough with the kick - say > 1 metre either side then the ball is ignored and I have to run to catch the ball as it rolls off at an angle. Bit like SPOT but played with Spot!

Played many sports at a decent level Rugby League & Union, Cricket, Football, Skiing, table tennis, golf, crown green bowls, ten pin bowling etc. I now enjoy playing these 3 sports.

1. Golf (5 Handicap)
2. Darts
3. Snooker

Domino's- the game
Domino's- the Pizza
Domino's- all fall down (after several beers)

Actually that's not true; hate domino's pizza.

Football (watching is no substitute for playing.
Mountain biking, just brilliant.
Tennis, probably what did my ankles in.
Table tennis, when I get the chance.

Used to enjoy Basketball. Football long do I stance hiking . Now because of age and arthritic knees it's Cycling. Fishing . Stroll to the Pub . In any order

As an older man, it's a difficult question to answer.

In my younger days it was:

Cross Country Running;
Swimming;
Cricket.

As I got older it was:

Darts;
Snooker;
Dominoes.

Now it is;

Walking (Hiking);
Allotment gardening;
and that's about it.

I was going to put fool but as it's not a sport it can be misconstrued when you play it. 🤡

Then: Football, Road Cycling, Cricket, Skiing, Cross Country Running, Fell Walking

Now: Skiing, Cricket, Hiking. Footy Coaching (under 16s) Gym

Over my life the three sports that i've played in leagues are football, darts and dominoes. Still play dominoes so I've been doing that in the various leagues around the Fylde for over 40 years. Played darts for teams three sometimes four nights a week too but packed that in about twenty years ago. Also played kids football and graduated into sunday football for about sixteen years or so.
Love to play golf which I still played prior to lockdown once a week but I could probably represent England in a comp for the worlds worst golfer. The game frustrates the life out of me that I'm not better at it.

1. Snowboarding
2. Squash
3. Gym training

Although Im knocking on a bit now, I was a PTI in the army for 12yrs but that ended 23yrs ago...so a 40 min game of squash means Im walking like John Wayne after a cattle drive for the next 24hrs 🤣 so you can imagine what a week on snowboard will give me!!! 🤣

I honestly may have seen you participating in your anchorsholme wall game Bottle We live at little bispham & I regularly walk our dog either south towards Norbreck or west to Cleveleys. I was watching a bloke & his pooch performing something similar to your description above & me & my missus were enthralled. Especially how stubborn he was 😂

Yup that sounds like him Willie - big brown idle Lab who is the worst retriever in the world. Keep your eyes peeled for when the Apprentice Black Lab joins in the fun and games once he’s signed his contract! 👍
