They are clearly adopting a plan that aims to progress forwards with caution. Obviously there's always a chance that plans might have to change and the virus is the main determining factor and it's unpredictable. The way Boris started his address to the House of Commons yesterday by saying it was irreversible but then saying in his press conference it isn’t irreversible doesn’t fill me with confidence all of them dates will be stuck too sadly.
If it is though, wonderful timing!!!!

Four days after the Scotland match though. The way Boris started his address to the House of Commons yesterday by saying it was irreversible but then saying in his press conference it isn’t irreversible doesn’t fill me with confidence all of them dates will be stuck too sadly.

Agree just can’t believe places like this will open up before everyone over 18 has been vaccinated.Think we will be in some form of lockdown again before the nightclubs open.
Data not dates, but the date is irreversible. Not like this lot to give a mixed message. Presumably they're meaning is if the current plan is kept to then that will lead to June 21st, but set backs en route could delay it. It was very clear Wiz, you should have listened to it mateData not dates, but the date is irreversible. Not like this lot to give a mixed message. Why is that? I'm genuinely curious as it could be the case I'm missing something here.Think we will be in some form of lockdown again before the nightclubs open.
I was listening to Ben Mansford at the timeIt was very clear Wiz, you should have listened to it mate
Then you'd we wrong IMHO... The Government and Scientific modellers can predict public action fairly accurately I'd say and so it's unlikely that will have a significant impact on plans. The virus is the only factor that is likely to result in any need to reverse plans... So the main issue is likely to result from resistance to the vaccine...I would say that people are the determining factor and their high predictability.
I'd be tempted to stay in lockdown, personally. **We play Czech Republic in the Euros on June 22nd.
Sorry x3, it was my weak joke, riffing on your last sentence. Then you'd we wrong IMHO... Last week over a 1000 deaths a day
Silly me. We averaged over a 1000 deaths a day through January and today over 500. Ok I'll pass on booking a foreign holiday and tickets to the euro finals just yet. Like I said the tone is all a bit premature, the Daily Mail headline today said it all.The last day with over 1,000 deaths was 29 January, last week seems to be more like 400/day.

True. You make your own decision and take your chances. Personally, I like going on holiday and have today booked a couple of camping trips to the Lakes this summer because they'll be gone soon otherwise. Am meant to be in Fuerteventura atm but that holiday (booked in April last year when easyjet were offering flights at £35 each way) obviously hasn't worked out. Now postponed until November.548 reported but there's always a bit of catch up after the weekend, if you look at date of death I would estimate we are currently losing about 300/day, not good but less than 1/3 of the 1,000 a day you started out with.
In any event, caveat emptor, they can book a holiday if they like but if it all goes to s*** then it's on their heads.
Yep and I have tickets ........... not gloating at all Hopefully at that stage they will let more in than 10KWe play Czech Republic in the Euros on June 22nd.

I hope you are right. I think the concern from the medical profession and from Govt. is the chance of a mutated variant that the current vaccines are ineffective against grows exponentially if we let it rip amongst those under 50 etc.Why is that? I'm genuinely curious as it could be the case I'm missing something here.
Surely if everybody who is at risk has been jabbed, and therefore are not being hospitalised, is there any need for restrictions?
Just like with Flu - there is thousands of cases every year, but because of jabs it isn't as lethal as covid currently is so life just goes on. Would we not be in the exact same situation with covid as we are every year with flu?
It's a good point - although the current variants which have shown to be more resistant to vaccines still only give a person mild symptoms, and not life threatening.I hope you are right.
