It's rain. Get over it.

This is embarrassing, there is no way the game should be off for rain, why wasn’t this a problem previously before this new groundsman came in ?

6:30pm and it stopped raining. I live close to Bloomfield (unfortunately) and to me it's no wetter than it has been in previous seasons my garden pond has no more water in it than usual 🤨 I think all these postponement have done for our chances now

Possibly the pitch actually being subject to renovation and improvement has impacted the drainage which I assume is absolutely ancient ?
Maybe all the work done to make the pitch top notch has inadvertently damaged the drainage ? Or maybe the drainage has finally just given up after a fairly lengthy life span !
Nothing can be done about it mid season, we just have to do whatever we can (I imagine that means borrowing rollers, pumps etc like what they use at cricket grounds) and have it sorted in summer.
Probably another £1 million for Mr Sadler to find... yet some of our fans are attacking the club and calling it tin pot 🧐

The fact you aren't at all bothered simply confirms that you are not a Blackpool fan (which we all knew to be fair).
Course I'm bothered. I have 8 cans of Kestrel and a chow mein. But it is what it is. I'm not going to get all emotional over missing a game on my phone.

While I'm sure there is a legacy of problem from the previous ownership, it's right to start asking questions about this because it is now at the point when it will hinder our chances of achieving something this season. This is not unusual British weather and the main thing for me is that we've had two games called off now on days that Fleetwood and Morecambe have been able to play. That isn't acceptable and we're within our rights to ask why. I'm certain that SS will be asking the same questions.

We are going to reach the 2nd of March having played only 11 home games, which is a bit ridiculous whatever the reason. I know they're not all the clubs fault. 12 home games in two months to finish the season, before we even think about away games.

Pitch waterlogged. Needs ripping up over the summer and drainage sorting. This is a legacy of years of underfunding. And for those saying where were the covers. Give your heads a wobble.

Move on... Nothing to see here.
Allez the groundsman put the covers on to save the game v Southend two years ago
Also stayed at ground all night so he could take them off and put back in as required
Now it did rain heavy before that game - and I was worried

Tim that was a game that had to be on as it was a sell out. The Jimmy Armfield tribute was called off as nobody was going. The drainage is a mess. First priority in the summer.

Allez the same principles should apply whether fans are there or not

My point was that covers can be used to protect the pitch from flooding

Charlton was pulled to save Owen’s face with the cameras there

it’s not the groundsman fault! The problem is exceptional rainfall resulting in an unusually high water table...
So did it not rain in Morecambe this afternoon?
Infact didn’t not rain anywhere else in the whole country? 🤔
Sorry but a professional game of football shouldn’t be called off after 4-5 hours of light to moderate rain fall when it’s not previously rained for a couple of days prior.

Is Morecambe Blackpool?
