Not got a clue what you are talking about pal,is this an English thingReally looking forward to this one. Will we go with Jimmy, Broad and Archer or will Joe Root and Co hedge their bets?
Starts at 9am mateWhat time does it start?
It's a day / night game and the pink ball is easier to see under the lights as opposed to the red ballForgive my ignorance, have loved the tests especially through these times.
What difference does the colour of the ball make?
I know there’s a lot of intricacies in Test Cricket
Thanks mateIt's a day / night game and the pink ball is easier to see under the lights as opposed to the red ball
It's the subcontinent so you bat first and hopefully go big. 1 spinner against 3 spinners, so someone is going to look silly. Is winning the toss as important in Day Night matches, if it is England have a great chance.
With it being a day night match the argument is that you get 4 different chances, the hard new ball, twilight, full lights and then as it's a dry pitch reverse swing. Seam is England's strength so they have gone with that. One spinner is a risk, although Root can turn a few.
I agree and probably think it’s for the best. With it being a day night match the argument is that you get 4 different chances, the hard new ball, twilight, full lights and then as it's a dry pitch reverse swing. Seam is England's strength so they have gone with that.
The ball's going up and down and side to side just enough to make things pretty unpredictable. We've only got nine batsmen - I'm concerned! Not exactly the deepest batting line up either!
Crawley is looking in good nick so far.
Not sure where you get nine from? The ball's going up and down and side to side just enough to make things pretty unpredictable. We've only got nine batsmen - I'm concerned!
Crawley should have (tried) stopped him. What was Bairstow thinking of reviewing that one?
No, nor me on reflection. Archer ahead of Leach in the order says it all. We're a batsman short at least I think, the ball is doing enough. Not sure where you get nine from?
Bairstow has burned reviews before, that was about as plum as you can get and there was no chance of the ball hitting the bat. What was he thinking of, that sort of thing can cost. What was Bairstow thinking of reviewing that one?
That boy needs to learn how to convert doubles into triples.Double hundreds needed by Root again!
I never get Archer ahead of Leach - I know Archer has at least one first class hundred - but for England he is woeful at batting. No, nor me on reflection. Archer ahead of Leach in the order says it all. We're a batsman short at least I think, the ball is doing enough.
Broad lost the ability to bat when he took that bouncer in the face. When Archer first came into the team, he was supposed to be able to bat a bit, but in test cricket has never done it.
Archer average is 8, which is shocking to play at number 8.
Broad on his day can hit a few and was higher up when a few years ago, but always 10 or 11 now.
Broad above Archer all day for me. The thing with Jofra is he's a good natural cricketer but he lacks the application and concentration to see it through. I hope I'm wrong but I'd have gone with Woakes - or Stone, who's really unlucky to lose out. When Archer first came into the team, he was supposed to be able to bat a bit, but in test cricket has never done it.
