Gary Lineker has just said Brighton are 'too good to go down' from the Premier League. Obviously we did go down, but did you think that about us when we were in the Prem?
Do you they think would @Athers - I think someone would have come in that next season and the O's would have bailed. Sam Oyston once told me that was OO's plan - shame the old goat didn't invest and then he might have made his fortune and disappeared! If VAR was about we’d have stayed up. Well and truly shafted by the officials in many a game.
The Oyston’s would still be here so I’m at peace with it now
They weren’t motivated by money they were motivated by the large satanic shaft that they all had firmly up their arses. They would have stayed for as long as we wanted them to leave.Do you they think would @Athers - I think someone would have come in that next season and the O's would have bailed. I disagree, the officials would still have found a way to shaft us.If VAR was about we’d have stayed up. Well and truly shafted by the officials in many a game.

I’m sure you’re right about staying up. Straight after the last game was played Sky were doing a recap and Jamie Redknapp said then that but for bad refereeing decisions we would not have gone downIf VAR was about we’d have stayed up. Well and truly shafted by the officials in many a game.

2 players short.Gary Lineker has just said Brighton are 'too good to go down' from the Premier League. Obviously we did go down, but did you think that about us when we were in the Prem?
It most seasons you have one or two really poor teams(this time Shef U and WBA) so to survive you have just just do better than just one other team so we were unlucky that season, but I agree a little bit of investment should have kept us up(tall reserve goalie)I've just had a look at the premier league standings across the last 20 years and we finished on 39 points in our season. 39 points across the last 20 seasons see us stay up in all but two seasons. We get relegated in 2002/03 as West Ham are relegated on 42 points and obviously 2010/11. What a shame really, few poor decisions and a lack of some luck saw us relegated
Poor quality signings in January but perhaps bigger, the injury to Gilks and not getting in a good goalkeeper. We were exhausted mentally towards the end but what an effort. Needed investment in january which never came. When you look at what clubs owners at the bottom end do season on season to survive and ours just stood back , watched and tried to save some money.
Totally agree.Poor quality signings in January but perhaps bigger, the injury to Gilks and not getting in a good goalkeeper.
Spurs wanted him on deadline day but KO wasnt having any of it. The fans sang Charlies name at the next match, he clapped them and then got on with it. I thought he deserved a bit of credit, he isnt superman and he did more than enough for us that season. Some good points on here - & whilst I appreciate this may be an unpopular view with the Charlie Adam purists, I’ve always reckoned that in the second-half of the season Charlie had had his head turned by the rave reviews he was deservedly getting & was more than a little cheesed off that he was being denied an immediate big-money move at that point & had one eye on the exit door.
I may be wrong, but I think it would have qualified us for Europe. I also said at the time, it was not the lack of skill that got us relegated but the lack of stamina (putting those bad decisions to one side that is.)First 11 was more than good enough, unfortunately the squad wasn't.
I seem to remember someone worked out that if games only lasted 70 minutes, we would have finished in the top half!
Yes we brought in some real shite in the Jan window!Poor quality signings in January but perhaps bigger, the injury to Gilks and not getting in a good goalkeeper.
