Thorniley is having his bottom spanked. He hasn't got the pace to deal with Hardie.

Actually Plymouth are totally dominant. Just can't do anything right. Even the basics.
 
Thorniley whilst has defended well in games today is showing his biggest weakness, pace.

Looks like he's running in treacle at times.
 
We've been a bit better since the first 25 but there's no spark. Might have to gamble on some of the options on the bench.

I don't think he's as good as many think, like I said, Stewart is a far better defensive midfielder.

I would change it with Gretarrson on and Turton going to right back, Gabriel as right midfield, take off Dougall so Embleton and Ward can do the central midfield and take off Kaikai who isn't in the game today and put Simms on to play alongside Yates.
 
Aside from the corner, literally everything we did in that first half was terrible. No redeeming features. This is a bad advert for not changing a winning side because the best word to describe us is lethargic. Need a couple of the youth players to inject some energy in to it.
Plymouth should be out of sight by now, we're lucky we're still in this.
 
A lacklustre half, Plymouth seem to have far more energy and in fairness are probably unlucky to be only ahead by 1. That is the only positive from our point of view, time for Critchley to earn his corn and make a few changes to bring us back into this game.
 
Sadly that was really poor.

We look a bit tired which is highly understandable, but Plymouth are winning every individual match up.

Thorniley needs moving away from Hardie, but I’m not sure he’d do much better against Ennis. I’d have half a mind to move Gabriel into the centre for his pace and put Turton out wide.

Think Simms needs to come on for Embo, Camara’s run the show for them in the middle.

We need a change here.
 
Dougall has not once passed the ball to a team mate except for a couple of back passes. He is having a stinker. Get him off. KaiKai very quiet and the dreadful, negative back and side passing is frustrating.
 
Poor half. Embleton, Kaikai, mitchell all anonymous. Dougall not great either. I'd replace Embleton, he's done decently the ladt few weeks linking up but showing nothing at all today
 
Completely run out of steam. Huge gap from Ward & Dougal to the front two and no-one looking they can bridge that. I would go Simms for Embleton and go a bit longer. You could also bring Greitarsason on for Thorniley.

We'll be lucky to get anything out of this.
 
Throw ins in their half all end up with our backs and invite pressure from their high press 🥺

is there ANY chance of a tactical throw forward FFS
 
very poor all over the pitch at the moment Embleton and kai kai not involved i would try robson and simms its going to have to be a big turn around it looks a matter of time before they score again.

Bloody hell, I'm stunned someone has taken offence to that.

We've all been saying Dougall was clearly suffering from long covid as he was no way near the level we've seen from him, he's recently picked back up to his usual standard but today he looks like he's reverted.
 
Absolutely no point at all playing long high balls up to Yates as they're just coming straight back.
The passing needs to be quicker and space has to be made, not just standing around. Pass and move the simplest of tactics but one of the most effective.
A defeat is not the end of the world and might just show us who really does have the fight for an end of season challenge if we do get beat. So lads, how high are your balls?
 
Embelton is running on empty, and Mitchell is not good enough on the right. Thornley off and replace with the Viking. Simms on for
Embelton and switch KaiKai to right, Mitchell on left. This is the type of team, we need Madine back for.
