Where would you choose to live....?

Got to be Llanfairpwllgwyngll.

When people ask you where you live you would just say 'Wales'.

Lived in the north east years ago (la Levi’s a Geordie) loved it, great people and countryside/coastline. Also lived in Mallorca (bar in Magalluf) for 10 years 80’s early 90’s, moved back to Pool 92 then St Annes 2007. Never considered anywhere else in UK to move back to always knew we would return to TGC, glad we moved around though for the experience.

Would move to New York in a heartbeat, family live in upstate New York and have a cabin in the Catskill mountains and a boat on Lake George.
In 3 hours, you can drive to New York City, Montreal, Cape Cod, Boston.....or even moonlight in Vermont

If it was sticking to the UK, I would pick Cheltenham...and especially Montpellier
I have relations in The Catskills. A small town called Leeds. Been a few times, loved the place and area.
Went into Catskill Town often as cousin worked there.

Toughie this. Probably Blackpool overall as I always love it when I come back from my (many) travels and stays of exile.

There are some other stunning areas I've visited/lived in -
Darn Sarf

The Cotswolds, Cambridge/Ely/The Fens in general, Cheddar Gorge and surrounds, Worcestershire, large parts of Shropshire, North Essex/South Suffolk is very pretty with the highlight being the Elveden forest. Also and despite all its faults I'm a big fan of that there London ands as already mentioned Cornwall/Devon though it gets bloody busy...

Pretty much most of it - Northumberland is incredible, West Scotland as mentioned, Lake District (my 2nd choice after Blackpool), even that funny county Yorkshire with its odd coloured rose has amazing places - the dales, Whitby, loads of historic places with castles etc... Lancashire itself is obviously nice especially the start to the Trough of Bowland, West Pennines etc.

Bonus mention to Wales - large parts of it look lovely though I haven't explored much yet.

Bit of a fan of the UK overall I think though I might end up one of those cliched people living in Spain when I retire 😁 🤦‍♂️

Not sure tbh, but I love bits of the Welsh coast especially parts of Pembrokeshire, Cardigan Bay and the Lleyn Peninsular.
Moved to North Yorkshire a few years ago and not really settled in yet.
Would happily move back to the Fylde as well but not an option at the moment.

You can't retire to Spain now can you? What with Brexit and all that.

I live in Thornton but in all honesty if I had the choice of anywhere id just move to St Annes. Anywhere from the end of the old pontins up to fairhaven lake along or around the front. Love it there and St Anne's centre.

Somewhere rural but not too far away from amenities. Maybe the East Yorkshire coast or the Lake District if not the Fylde coast.

Missus has her eyes on going home to rural France so will probably end up there when the kids grow up.

Lived in Yorkshire all my working life (YS footslogger). Retired to Wellington, Somerset. Loved the area. 5 minutes drive to the Blackdown Hills, 15 to the Quantocks and 20 to Exmoor. 30 mins to the S Coast. Missus got homesick for the North and grandkids, so we compromised on the “Gold Coast”. No regrets.

East Yorkshire coast is at least 10 degrees cooler than the Sunshine Coast. Seriously. The North Sea is freezing.

For real? I wanted a little finca or casa somewhere eventually anyway.... I'm hopeless with the news so if true it's totally passed me by.

Villa in Torquay it is then 😂

SH, love Somerset. MrsDPs best friend has lived in Taunton for about 40 years (from Blackpool originally).
Sadly she's got dementia now (95 y.o.) so we can't visit her. Doesn't recognise any one. very sad.
We used to go every year for a week or two.

Puma, I've seen the inside of that place (Through Harry Carter's site)...not a bad job and a decent looking place
Looks really good and then when you see where it is.....🙄.......But £400k.....that's decent, put that in Lytham and it's £1m

In this country:
Somewhere exciting a flat in central London.

Somewhere quiet - Shrewsbury, but avoiding the flooded areas.

One thing I didn’t manage down there Dave was going to T20 cricket. Tickets are like gold dust. STs sell out immediately. They have a strong core of fans from Devon and Cornwall too. Horse racing at Taunton and Exeter was a great day out too. I like my rugby and dropped lucky with a new friend down there, who always obliged me with a ticket for “Chiefs” games, under the proviso that I reciprocate with accommodation and BFC. Sadly, I’m still waiting for the opportunity to do so.
