Embleton likely to be recalled

Think we might be doing just that, Critch said when Kaikai felt his hamstring in the warm up he brought Embleton in to replace him. So his intention was to have him on the bench.
Embleton did ok yesterday - he was by no means MotM match, but he grew into to it - but hey this was Northampton ! A better match than some recently he had

one thing you do notice about money bags Clubs eg Man City/Utd, Chelski etc and Sunderland is that they have such a monetary domination they hover up players like fish, to avoid other Clubs gaining any possible advantage. But then .....
The ethically generous players suck up every penny of the amazing wages on offer, but tell their parent Club (in this case Sunderland) to do one, as they haven’t got a chance of more than a handful of appearances given the strength of squad and egotistical player pecking order.

hence benefactor Clubs in this case Blackpool benefit

He’s our player until the next transfer window opens on June 9. No debate, no discussion. EFL Rule 55.1.2
I thought that as well, i.e. loan periods included playoff.

This isn't the first time loan players have been in the playoffs and I don't recall permission ever having to be sought from parent clubs to extend.

There has to be an extension to the loan after the 46 games are up. Embleton never quite believed in himself at SAFC, but he signed a two year deal just before going to Blackpool. Maguire was supposed to go out and had a choice of two clubs. We had to loan someone as there were too many not featuring enough. Maguire refused the offers, so Lee Johnsn shipped Embleton. As a result he seems to have deliberately under used Maguire, who still has plenty to offer at 32. Looks like his time is up at the end of teh season though.

Sunderland activated the one year option in their favour to extend his contract to June 2022 before the loan.

I don't believe it's a case of them letting him play. I understand the loan rules mean he can play, just not against Sunderland.

Worth or not, he's an option I'd like us to have, bench or starting.

From the horses mouth , he won't be allowed to play in the semis, but , if Sunderland don't make the final but we do , he will be allowed to play in it .

Can Sunderland stop him playing in any games that aren't against them? Pretty certain it's against EFL rules.

Send that horse to the glue factory if I were you. 😜

Why can't he play in the semis if we don't face Sunderland? If we finish 3rd, we won't be facing them in the semis and hopefully they will get beaten by Lincoln. He could then also play in the final if we make it

Do you not remember Danny Shittu missing the 2001 final because his loan expired?

I don't think Embleton missing would make a huge difference with Ward and Anderson fit tbh. We have to fit Kaikai in somewhere too.

Agree, although he has played well in the last couple of games.

We are going to be playing Portsmouth or Charlton in the playoff semi and Embleton will want to at least play a part in that.
Obviously if we were to end up playing Sunderland in the final he won't be playing.
I think l he will definitely stay now although he might not get a start the way Keshi played tonight.

I hope he remains an option, within the regulations, he's played his part in getting us here.

If not so be it; he's been a good addition to the squad at a time we needed it.
