The pundits who were against Grayson sacking.

Grayson is the Mourinho of the lower leagues. Had success years ago but Football has moved on and they haven’t. They’ll have some success in games but over a period of time they get found out and the players suss them out too.

Grayson is also a very lazy Manager, from his lack of training sessions on grass, to continuously giving players days off, to scouting and signing players ... Joe Nuttall and Teddy Howe two obvious very costly examples. Then we’ve got his in-game tactics and you really aren’t left with much.

He’ll do ok at Fleetwood, mid-table but that’s all that’s required, which after his last 3 flops at jobs will be a vast improvement.

Wiz

No problem with your views but surely if you feel that "the football style was very poor" and that "we didn't have the results as compensation" then that's nothing to do with hindsight ?

You formed those opinions at the time of Larry's sackings and not afterwards.
I've always been a fan of stability in the club, and a poor run of results doesn't automatically mean the manager should go. At the time I would have given him a bit more time to see if the recent signings made a difference.

Sadler clearly had a slightly shorter patience span 😀

I also thought it was harsh not to give him time to work with the signings, but we looked to be going more defensive and even less exciting and Grayson didn’t realise his job depended on attacking football and excitement plus results and came across as a bored veteran manager going through the motions. Won’t have been a cheap or easy decision for Sadler.

Yes Wiz, I agree with all you said there.

My only point was - and please forgive my pedanticity - was that you said that the football and results had been poor and talked about hindsight, your opinion on the football and results were formed before Larry had been sacked and therefore had nothing to do with hindsight.

It doesn't matter now.

I think Adam hits the nail on the head with football has moved on and Grayson hasn’t and as a result his football has become extremely negative and defensive.
In hindsight he should have remained a very fond memory and in our thanks for getting us promoted in 2007.
Anyway who cares, he’s fleetwoods problem now.
