Family-friendly recruitment drive at AFC Fylde

I've applied, but stated that I need to use the computer regularly to check AVFTT and I need regular tea breaks in a feng shui office and DH to give me a foot massage at 3pm just before I leave for home...I'm confident about getting the job !

Ps. Shannon, your husband's waiting for his tea !

Ironic a so called family friendly club punishes anyone who wants pick up their kids from school.

P.S. Still reeling from the fact that Fylde are not a Premiership Club (do they mean Ryman Premiership?)

It’s not illegal albeit some might say discriminatory

There is a defence of justification to that
He probably got pissed off with the many people leaving (or getting sacked) that he’s being totally honest this time round with his expectation in the job ad. You can expect phone calls from DFD at all hours of the day and night 7 days a week - so just make sure your salary expectation reflects the 18 hours of the day and night you are ‘working’.

Doesn’t every employee have the right to ask for flexible working after 6 months’ employment?
They have a right to ask

To be honest it’s pretty easy to bat it off as the employer if you want

I have to say ( and I might be old fashioned ) but anyone wanting a GM role at a decent salary shouldn’t expect to be leaving work to pick the kids up twice a week

Anyone who defends that job advertisement needs sectioning it's diabolical.

How about stop being a lazy ** and read someones CV then you might find out they haven't any kids or they have grown up and then arrange a interview.

pool

I'm not sure it's about being lazy, more about making it clear what is expected.

Yes, in this day and age it might what people expect to read on a job advert but there is something to be said about getting to the point and the advert makes it clear what is expected and lets people know what they are looking for.

this is my favourite bit

This is a ”hands on role” and requires hands on leadership from the front so “delegators” and “office dwellers” please don't apply.

So please don’t apply lads it would be a terrible waste of time if you do 😂

What job for a GM would say that 'delegators' need not apply? How are you supposed to manage anything without delegation? If it wasn't for delegation I'd have to get up off my arse every now and then, leave the house and wander down to our new 'HOT DESK ZONE' to do something, (I'm only vaguely aware of where the hot desk is, I think it's in the VIc, or might be at St Annes or something, it changes a lot and I can't be arsed reading emails).

Fuck that, I didn't waste years at uni for a degree that has no real world practical application to actually have to work for a living.

(joking aside, if I wrote that advert I'd be up before a panel on a disciplinary in about 20 seconds)

Yes, I thought the same re delegation.

I'm thinking it was just a very poorly worded way of telling the applicant to be prepared to get their hands dirty.

In fairness it’s going to be a tough job when they build their new stand which will be the closest rival to Tottenham’s new ground across Europe.

Will be mayhem managing such prestige facilities.

'Salary and associated benefits will be no obstacle for the right person, so if you are up to the challenge, in the first instance send a letter, no emails please, explaining in detail why you consider you are the right person for this role together with your salary expectations'

Do the benefits include a 'how to construct a grammatically correct and coherent sentence' course?

Just another nothing club aren’t they really like Fleetwood?

I remember when they got relegated to the conference north after they put the year "2022" on the player's shirt sleeves, as it was their target to reach the football league by then.

Compromise is not within our vocabulary has to be the most ridiculous shit I have ever read in a job specification.

So he wants a manager who doesn't delegate or negotiate. Both of which are pretty important if you want to develop your team, properly manage workflows, or build relationships with others.

It's a club that deserves to fail, in my opinion. Thank God he never got his hands on anything valuable.

Sounds to me like whoever gets the job IS the team! Unless you can train the office cat to do the filing, it's on you!! 😂

Yep.

No compromises or delegation, so nothing ever gets done ever then? No wonder they're having to advertise for a new one.
