Not real fans

Refuse to move their legs out of the way when someone needs a piss / pint, yet purposely sit themselves on a row end….

Not only will they not spend any money themselves, but they try to prevent anyone else spending…

Happy to claim their cheap season tickets, despite their bulging bank balances…

Must admit I do agree to a certain extent. Always make sure me and my dad get a drink or two on the concourse and usually a pie and programme too. Times are tough though and people have to cut their cloth though but if a flask of tea and a sandwich are the difference between a season ticket or not then I’m sure the club would rather the up front cash than the sales on the concourse.

Is that aimed at the likes of me who has to ply our two with sweets galore pre match, during and at half time ?
I have to take a small rucksack in, filled with all sorts.

Guess we’re in the category of not being real fans 😔 and robbers ( even though weve spent a small fortune in the club shop )
Ignore the xxxxx supporting your team is from the heart (i think his brother is GJJW)he loves me too bless him😁.

Phil does have a point though…. We do have quite a few who are in it more for themselves and don’t really offer much in return…

What part of paying for a season or matchday ticket makes people 'in it for themselves'?
Well grabbing discounted ST’s instead of paying full price for a start.

But then on top of that, not really getting behind the team vocally (apart from moaning and whinging).

Not buying confectionery, beers etc…

You should definitely be in it for yourself. Simon Sadler is a multimillonaire who runs a very successful hedge fund and has more money than you and I could ever dream of . I'm not exactly in a charitable mood to just give him money by buying food and drink I don't want. If he doesn't want to spend money he should sell the club, so it's a good thing he does want to spend money. 50k in concessions give or take has no impact.

What about avoiding holidays and spending the equivalent in the club shop.

Or not buying your child birthday presents and sending the money directly to Simon

What on odd way of looking at things.

Do you go into Tesco and Morrisons and ask to pay the full price rather than the offers? Or are you in it for yourself?

I recall when the stewards used to walk around the outside of the pitch and chuck wrapped boiled sweets into the crowd from a bucket. I caught a mint humbug once. It lasted about half an hour.
I am not sure if the sweets were included in the "football budget". They were freebies much appreciated by the malnourished kids of the day. No wonder transfers in were few and far between eh! 🙂

Good ideas and I’m sure they are ones that all real fans will take note of.

No, I don’t, but that’s the difference between a ‘customer’ and a ‘supporter’…

The clue is in the name 👍

Decided after Blackburn game we are done with food and drink at the ground
Waited over 25 minutes to get served leading to us missing the opening goal
I know should have left queues when game started but everydays a school day
Nothing to do with being a real fan

Yes a number of fans would pay full price, the problem was the seats. Simply paying a non refundable £50 would reserve your seat with full payment due, say 10 working days after tge EB closes. They could ear mark this money for a specific project (perhaps community), which makes it more tangible to a fans.

Don't get me wrong, i would happily pay full price - and didn't refund season ticket money offered back during the first lockdown.

My point is that taking that approach doesn't make someone a better fan than someone who isn't as fortunate to be in that position.

I think you probably need to have a careful think about the quality of your fanship, rather than having a go at me.

I agree.

It's just an income opportunity lost as far as i can see, which makes the board much more guilty of limiting income than a non pie n pint fan.
