Just finishing series 2 of Goliath (Billy Bob Thornton) which someone put up on here a while back. Really enjoying it. One of those shows you could just keep watching for too long.

Not watched many films lately although I just finished one called Renegades on Amazon. It was really good and nothing like what I thought it would be.

Movies / series to line up next?

Watched Rise of the Footsolder plus sequels (5 in total) throughout last week.
British, extremely violet (not one for the squeamish) really good watch.

Just got round to finishing Britannia series 3 finally.

Next the latest series of Lucifer - plenty of visual reasons to be happy on there 👍😁

I recommended Goliath in your previous thread. Glad you're enjoying it, we recently got through the fourth season very quickly. We watched Dexter a few years ago, and there's a new season out (Sky Atlantic or Now TV should have it) which looks very good.

Mrs Dave is watching the Handmaid's Tale on Amazon. I find it a good watch but its very weird, which I suppose is the point in a dystopian drama. I'm waiting for Amazon to release the new Jack Reacher series as I've read the books.

Edit, Netflix films - The Harder they fall was good (Idris Elba the bad guy for a change), plus Red Notice which we'll probably watch tonight

Really liked ‘The Harder They Fall’.
Regina King was a very good villain.
Alice in Borderland good if you liked Squid Game.
I don’t think it’s ‘new’ new, but The Last Vermeer, based on a true story, is worth watching too.

Almost at the end of 2 excellent series...... American Rust & Dope Sick........Both really worth watching.

My best movies so far:
The Power of The Dog....... Guaranteed Oscar for Benedict Cumberbatch & it's a jane Campion movie
Dear Even Hanson.....OK, it's teen suicide with songs...but it's well worth watching, if you hear the tap, tap, tapping (sorry, it's an in joke)

If you do have a spare 90mins, watch a movie called PIG with Nicolas Cage.....so wrong, it's right....
2021 has proved to be the year for the worst movies ever made

Harder they fall was good but it does amuse me how so many of them go all guns blazing in the open but never get hit. And they always seem to knowwhen some-one is behind them about to shoot.

'Midnight Mass' on Netflix, a bit Stephen Kingy but more cutting, properly enjoyed it but I always rate Mike Flanagan stuff highly.

I just don't get succession, tried it but just haven't enjoyed it at all. I was also really disappointed with Midnight Mass too, got to episode 5 and couldn't watch any more.

Quite enjoying Impeachment, the Lewinsky/Clinton affair, although Lewinsky does come across as a very obsessed, silly little girl. Clive Owen is good as Clinton.

Film wise, really enjoyed Free Guy, going to watch The Dry tonight, an Aussie thriller that has had really good reviews.

As for series I am scratching around at the moment, haven't fancied anything much since Squid Game. Has anyone watched Outlaws on BBC? Is it any good?

Just finished watching The Outlaws on BBC1. Stephen Merchant comedy drama. Also with Christopher Walken. Great story and laugh out loud funny in parts. Looking forward to Series 2.

Thought the first 2 seasons were excellent. Then it got abit strange for me.

Didn't see it when it was originally on so catching up now on the Crossing Lines series with Donald Sutherland and an international cast. They form an investagation unit for the International Criminal Court with cases crossing many countries. Pretty good.

Finished the excellent Ozark last week and can't wait for the new series in January.
Gonna start the new [third] series of You. The first two series were very good, especially the first.
Ozark is probably my favourite series of the last couple of years, really good and yet so few people seem to have watched it. Didn't realise a new season is out in Jan, but should be good considering how the last one ended 😱

Really enjoying Impeachment. Like with the OJ Simpson series from the same stable, they manage to comment on history AND the present. Captivating and clever.

Still watching The Wire. Very good.
We are watching The Wire , only done the first 7 episodes , everyone tells me keep with it but quite difficult, I find it hard to always understand what the drug gangs are saying .

Sath Let’s Flats.
It’s getting some great critical reviews but in the real world I haven’t found one other person that likes it apart from me and my eldest daughter 🥴

The Wire is the first and best of its kind. While the Mrs has been away I've been watching the Hollow Crown series on Britbox. Stupendously good retelling of Shakespeare's Hendriad plays right through to the Wars of the Roses. Some of the best TV I've ever watched.

I’ve been watching it. Very good.

Series is half way through on real TV but available on iPlayer if you want to catch up or binge.

Showtrial also on BBC seems to be good.

Recently watched the first two series of Fargo - how did I miss this darkly comic but superbly filmed and acted series I don’t know, but its very “oddness” is palpable and every episode leaves you wanting to watch the next!

Just having a slight break from it as want to savour the next - snd last sadly - series (Netflix)

Currently watching (Netflix again) Russian Doll, hard time liking the main characters to start, but stuck with it and glad I did, without giving too much away its a wee bit Groundhog Day, but only 30 minute episodes that grow on you slowly.

Catching up with 'For all Mankind' and 'The Morning Show'.
Up to date with American Horror Story.
Just seen Star Trek Discovery has been pulled from Netflix two days before it was due to land because Paramount are launching their own streaming service in the UK next year.
When do we reach saturation point?

The first two series are properly great, not got round to the others yet, started season 3 with Ewan Mcgregor but not returned.

On Series 3 of Bloodline on Netflix. Not up to Ozark or Breaking Bad standards but very watchable. Crime drama set in the Florida Keys. Slow start but stuck with it and really glad that I did.

The wire was amazing as is goliath I whizzed through 4 series as recommended from here also I assume every one knows about still game also narcos was good there are loads but loads of shit.

All good, but Fargo got a little worse series-by-series for me. Shame they couldn't write Billy Bob Thornton into every series. They're all on 4oD for free still I think.

Yes, I enjoyed it and good to know there’s a new series on the way.

Midnight Mass on Netflix - 8 episodes and very well done I thought!

Bit different and bit late to this but Rick & Morty is superb, takes a couple of episodes to get into but then flashed through all 4 series, so good I started watching them all again, some of the music is excellent and the themes brilliant - fave episodes have to be Pickle Rick and The Heist Genre micktake! A cartoon by the way.
