Are we going to struggle to keep Marv?

A young pacey, strong, tall CB who's got a pretty good all round game and improving all the time? We don't know how seriously Yates bids were in the summer but could we see a bid of a few million for Marv from a top end Championship club or Prem team? I imagine he's starting to flag on people's radars.

New contract time perhaps?

Only a matter of time, I only hope we get a very good fee for him and its given to NC to improve the squad.

Not yet he is still learning
Got caught out earlier trying to dribble out from the back and nearly caught out again last night.
Tremendous potential and he should stay till he is worth millions as a Prem player and then give Carey a chance

Need to get him tied up on an extended new contract so we get a decent fee if he is to be poached! Plus it rewards his magnificent contribution. Win win

Playing out of his skin at the moment, deserves an improved contract. If it comes to selling him, he'll be on the £10m I'd have thought

Sign his brother Marvel on QT and when clubs ask about Eki's availability let them know the price is 5 million and send Marvel out to them.
Where is Souness nowadays?

I’d be proud to see a Prem club buy him for a decent wack.
We should sell him for the right price - the money would be very useful in both Sadler and Critch’s hands.

Burnley like to shop in the Championship for CBs (Tarkowski, Ben Gibson and Nathan Collins in recent years).

They are losing Tarkowski at the end of this season too, could certainly see Dyche being keen.

undoubtedly, he must be on the radar of progressive clubs with deeper pockets than us.

his development in the last season+ with us has been fantastic to watch and his overall progression in 4 years or so has been exponential and impressive. it will not go unnoticed, especially by the data analysts, and i'd say visiting scouts would have been impressed with him too.

just like his manager and some of his team-mates, he is a quick learner, can clearly read the game, is adaptable and has the raw materials ripe for further development. i'm biased of course but i'm very confident he can make the step up, hopefully with us.

i sincerely hope a new contract is on the table for him, and judging by the way we are run at the moment, i expect it is.

I honestly think he will be the first big sale of the new era. We do have to sell from time to time as Sadler has said to keep on keeping on. A top prospect from almost day one for us and deserves every bit of success that will come his way. I’ll be gutted when the time comes.

One day when he's plsying for some side in the Prem or retired we will look back and marvel at the wonders of "Ekpitata's telescopic leg". Marv is a hero for our times and a great prospect, improving every game. I really hope he sticks with us.

Not yet but if he keeps up this form all season and we finish top half Marv will be one of the players we'll be fending off interest from. Only natural when a team does surprisingly well. All part of the plan though, our shrewd pick ups for small amounts perform at a high level and are sold on for huge profit which is reinvested in the club.

Painful for us fans but if we're getting 5-10 million bids for our key players things are going very very well.

Nah ... i like him but he isn't good enough on the ball for a proper big team

Gives the ball away a lot and when he comes out with it his touch isn't good enough

He got very lucky on Tuesday in the second half when he ran with it and lost control resulting in a 3 on 1 for them...they could have scored

Probably worth about 500k in today's market..

Probably showing how out of touch you are at times Phil.

Championship players to other Championship clubs that you want to keep don't go for 500k.

I agree with your comments but not your valuation...I would think if we can get over £2 million we should be more than happy. The ball is a hot potato for him at times and his passing and general distribution is very limited. However he more than compensates for that with his strength, pace and in particular his ability in the air. He is a key player but we have to accept we will lose some players as we move up the ladder...I would hope it gets reinvested as that will really help strengthen the club.

He's fairly steady and his age might put a few off, 5 years younger different story. I don't see clubs being interested in our players as a problem, alternative is being like preston where nobody is interested in any of them!
