Womens Super League .Do you watch it?

No. For me it's watching ladies trying to be a bit blokey.

It needs to be recognized as ladies or women's football not just football.
They aren't as big or strong as men or are they as fast, and have less stamina.
This is not in anyway a criticism. It's a fact of nature.
The be FA need to recognize this, as they do in cricket.
Smaller pitches (not massively smaller) and the same with the goalposts...80mins instead of f 90....it makes absolute sense in my view.

I watch it. I like it but im not blind to its faults. The defending and goalkeeeping are poor but the rest is technically ok and can be entertaining to watch. I think the media and punditry lets it down because they are that keen for it to be a success they dont criticise anything, to the point where it gets ridiculous.

Absolutely painful to watch nearly as bad as the women’s cricket 😀. Even more painful is the media coverage, and to be honest I begrudge it rather have a tenner off my sky bill. If they think the public want it then let’s have women’s sport as a stand alone subscription channel, it’d go bust within a year.

I don't, but then I don't really know why people get angry about something no one makes you watch.

The entire point of having woman's football promoted is cos at very point that woman's football got quite popular (very popular in fact) in the ye olde times, it got literally banned by the FA.

That set the development of the woman's game back literally 50 years (or more probably, because it had to start again from very little)

We'd probably point and laugh at the men's game if it had developed from a standing start with none of the cultural traditions of centuries of participation by vast swathes of society.

To be honest, with that in mind, sticking a few games on telly and chucking a few quid on it is the least the game as a whole could do.

If that disadvantages you by forcing you to reach for the remote, then so be it. It's hardly the world's most difficult thing to do, to turn from Sky Sports 1 to Sky Sports 2 is it?

Yours in pomposity.

I don't have any issue with it but don't watch it nor do I think there is any appetite for it.

And for that reason I'd rather see my Sky subscription pay towards showing more L1 and L2 matches who need the money and retain their status in men's League football for their communities rather than Man United, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal's ladies teams that are funded millions by their owners and now Sky only for there to be nobody watching it.

I never watch it, but then I also don't watch games that don't have Blackpool in them. If Blackpool Ladies were on TV regularly, I'd probably watch the shit out of it.

Bit harsh to call the goalies crap, the taller ones obviously have the advantage in the full size goals but purely by nature they generally aren’t as tall as their male counterparts so some will suffer more in certain situations. That’s not a slight on their ability.

I’ve watched a bit of it and it’s alright. Obviously nowhere near the top mens teams but as said above the game has to start from somewhere.

I wonder if the folk saying their Sky subscription should be cheaper because they don’t watch this also say the same if they don’t watch basketball, NFL, darts etc? Or could it possibly be because it’s womens football?

Sky should show schoolboy (U16) football as it's been shown that they are better than the women.
I’ll bet there aren’t many under 16 age group boys who stop playing football because there arent enough teams for them to play at tho.

Womens football needs the exposure to normalise the game to young girls and get more playing.

I quite like watching Women’s football, but the games are often very one-sided, and I am never bothered about who wins, which isn’t a good thing in a spectator sport, so I rarely look at it.
Maybe if BFC had a decent team!

No. I don't like it really. Moreso I don't like the way it's pushed- it's not getting exposure on it's own merits, same with womens cricket.

Don’t watch it because the standard is poor. I have no problem with womens football being promoted to encourage growth but it often is given disproportionate billing behind Premier League football and ahead of the EFL which is not right.

Who has got angry?

Try watching Sky Sports News, they'll be talking about some sport involving men, the next minute they'll change it to a sport involving women.

Even just now during the Chelsea vs Tottenham game, they have to mention that there is another live game after this one, and it's one involving women.

Why not give them their own channel or two?
So basically, they said what's coming on next on the channel you were watching. Is that even worthy of comment?

When it's on terrestrial, they usually mention the news or the film that's on next.

Womens super league will destroy itself within the next few years. It is already dominated by a couple of teams that have bought success without any history . The standard is poor anyway.

I tried but it just wasn’t for me. Maybe if Blackpool had a team in there I might raise a modicum of interest?

Watched a couple of internationals in tournaments but again only England games.

Sometimes. More and more girls and woment are taking up the game. Standards will improve but most importantly, they are getting exercise and enjoyment from this brilliant sport. None of my three girls took it up properly and I'm still disappointed about that. Can't say I'm impressed with those at the top that are buying success but you can hardly say that's restricted to the women's game.

And most of them will be freebies or buy a £5 adult ticket and have unlimited free kids tickets. Think Fleetwood Town over the past decade 👍

Pretty sure that’s a false figure for Everton, that’s their highest attendance with their average being about 2500

It doesn't work like that . Sky were under representing football below Championship level way before Women's Football was shown. It's not a choice between the two . Your sky subscription pays for Premier League football end of.

so just to be clear, if they trail a F1 race coming up or an NFL game does that annoy you as well?

My point was that I'd rather it was. Which you missed.

I’d have to be seriously short of something to do to watch it.
I agree. I'm also surprised there are any players left. It seems if you've played women's football for half a season it gets you a job being a pundit or reporter on men's football.

But most of them are pretty poor St Ives...

Even you make them look good! 😆

I would watch it and have watched it but I haven’t really been entertained by it. That’s not really a criticism as there’s a lot of Premier League matches I don’t watch or start watching and turn off for the same reason.

I do think making the goals and pitch slightly smaller would help but I guess that’s up to them or Fifa to decide. I’ll give the lionesses a watch in the World Cup, did it last time and got into it.

I’ll watch a game now and again.
The one thing worse than the standard of goalkeeping is the over exaggeration of some of commentators.
There was an incident in yesterday’s game between Brighton and Chelsea where the Brighton keeper parried a shot coming straight at her from distance and the commentator called it a world class save!
You do get some moments of good skill, though, although it often ends in a player kicking the ball as if she’s wearing Zorbs instead of boots.
