OLD PICTURES OF BLACKPOOL FC

If anyone's interested in old photos of Blackpool & BFC i uploaded a few photos from my collection for the Blackpool Heritage Society and the Blackpool Museum Project - it's been up now well over 2 years and no-one has got in touch from either organisation? Please don't share these images over social media - all are unpublished and all rights are reserved. If you have any questions regarding specific photos or would like to see any other images in the list get in touch with me on here. The cataloguing is unfinished and the eighties photographs will be uploaded very soon.

Cheers for posting your pictures I love old Blackpool memorabilia 👍

The club have an article today showing "Classic Screen Background Images". I thought some of them should be on this thread. I had a helluva job finding it! 😀

This is the club article. I'll do the iconic Charlie celebration in the next post. [Edit to add: I tried to copy and paste it, but it's too large. Will see if I can shrink it.]

Any others worth recording on this iconic thread?

It was a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield. Anyone remember the Pool scorer?? And for an extra point what bizarre incident occurred on match day?!!
I can remember Uddersfield filled there allocation and the overspill had to be segregated in the West paddock below block E, they were all over the ground in fact. Was the scorer Tony Ellis' or Andy Gouck?.

And the roof of the East with Coucher and Shaw. The advertising worked. Still remember it.
I well remember the East advertising the Green and Ismail tea & coffee merchants.
I also have a very early memory of the West stand advert for OBJ - Oh be joyful beer. That was soon replaced by an advert for Whitbread beers although, at a young age I didn't understand what was meant by "Cod Refreshing Flavour".

We had a player sent off and were one nil down until near the end when we got a penalty....

There was a Fire Alarm and all stands were evacuated at Half Time and we went on the pitch until the all clear. Think it was New Years Day 2003.

Alfie, your thinking of another Huddersfield home game, first game of the season in 1994. Lot of trouble in the South Paddock that day.

Gill Bridge in the Gazette a few days later blamed it on Huddersfield fans putting their shirts on inside out to look like our away kit at the time so that they could get in. What a complete load of nonsense.

Its sickening looking at the state of some of those pictures and how bad the ground was allowed to look.

Nice one Pottsy! Good memory!! It stuck in my mind because of that. John Hills scores the pen....he was very reliable from the spot.

I can’t remember who got the red card though. Lee Collins maybe?

Part of our history.

Ps. and slightly O/T but as I was trying to find an old picture of Raikes Hall stadium I somehow stumbled upon New Brighton (Wirral) Tower. In my 30-odd years I have never known about this now demolished rival to Blackpool's tower until today!
Well that's a new one on me aswell and I'm in my 50th year! just had to google it, amazed.

Can't remember our scorer without cheating, although, I can vividly remember the midget Leon Knight out jumping John O'Kane to score Huddersfield's goal.
