Club confirms pricing ST/ on the day

Ffs, look everyone has a choice. If you don’t like the price rise just don’t go. Simples.
Oh right yeah. Of course! Bloody hell why didn't I think of that!

The club says it consulted fans about the new price structure. I'd like to know the names of the fans who agreed to £30/32 tickets! So we can take it up with them! Presumably season ticket holders!

Although obviously the club actually didn't consult fans on the actual prices did it? It saw some calls for a membership scheme, which fans thought was a way to get cheaper tickets for home fans, and used it to add £6 to the price of most games last season.

It's a pretty clear statement that the club is more about exclusivity than inclusivity, in my opinion. As Scara said:

"If you don’t like the price rise just don’t go. Simples."

See you in the Heineken Experience. 🤮

I could diswarm to Simon Sadler. A guy who made a fortune betting on the stock market, raising the prices of tickets out of the reach of care workers, hotel staff, hospital porters, classroom assistants, Amazon warehouse staff, labourers etc. And no monthly payment scheme for season tickets. It's a bad development this, in my honest opinion. If you can't really afford a £30m investment, then scale it back. Or move on. Or find another investor.

So the club is willing to forgo a very possible 23 x £25 just for the sake of a required £15 membership that is needed to reduce the price from £30 to £25 advanced purchase walk on price. Barmy

Just charge £25 and f' the £15 membership

I’m. not gonna get into it with you. He can afford it. And he’s putting it in, where’s the problem here ? I just don’t understand. It just seems some love to moan for moaning sake. Lots of things are more expensive than I’d like to pay, but it’s a business, you either do it or you don’t.

It's really not moaning for moaning's sake. It's actually the first moan I've had since Sadler arrived.

Ok, then just get a season ticket, it’s good value for championship football. If you can’t afford one then you will need to select the games you can. It’s really that simple.

Not one of you best posts Scara you go to aways like me if we start getting charged 30 quid every ground because we do that can't be right.
I asked Wiz so same question how many times have you paid £30+ on your travels he came up with just Fulham?

I agree but it's all about ripping away fans off which is plain wrong the membership should bring it down to 20.

I will deal with the pricing however I see fit. The issue is about the overall effect on supporters and potential supporters and who is squeezed out, and the club's position in the community. We will be one of the most expensive clubs for match tickets in the Championship next season, maybe the most expensive. We've also been told there won't be much investment in the squad. And we don't have a London postcode.

I just don't really like the direction of travel. How do we even know that Sadler isn't treating the club like a hedge fund. Buy it low and sell it high? I don't think that's the case, but I thought he'd try a bit harder to keep things affordable. Seems more focused on the real estate than the people.

Overall I think it’s pretty fair - but any ticket I have to print at home and get charged for the privilege of doing it - erks me somewhat as it’s a con.

The one thing I would have done is said that if you are a season ticket holder you can buy extra tickets in advance at £25 for anyone you want to bring….probably add a max limit of four per game or similar.

They could use the V12 finance arrangements spread over 6 months or does this have high interest rates?
You get charged an extra £40 for finance so you basically lose out on the early bird price which gets added on to the first month's installment.

Only problem if your credit rating is average/poor you'll probably get knocked back from getting it as have many.

Surely you are paying a booking fee and print at home is free? If you do the same transaction but request collection or post I am sure you’ll pay more, no?

That's pretty close to my view, too. Season tickets sound right, good to see the Membership scheme resurrected, reductions for oldies and youngies, it has to be paid for somehow. I too think the walk in prices are a bit high for where we are, and I have never got the premium to print at home, should be encouraged, not charged.

In the greater scheme of things, Simon has had two years of COVID reduced revenues, and it now looks like energy prices, food and everything else may push us into a recession. To put £30M up front to make a fit for purpose Training Ground, and build a proper Scratching Shed in this climate is the sign of a real committed Custodian, we are very lucky. I'm sure he will be able to bring the loan down with the eventual sale of Squires Gate, but, until then, the risk is all his. 👏👏👏👏👏👏.

There is no perfect answer, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. It amazes me how many fans we have qualified in Marketing, who can state with confidence what the impact of this change or that will be, bravo.

Why would you get slaughtered it's a good honest post anyone who doesn't think 30/32 is too high for Blackpool in the Championship they haven't a clue about the town and how it works.

Last season when my customers asked about prices as they know I'm a pool fan and encourage them to attend the odd game the feedback they where OK with Cat B/C prices A at push for Preston but no others at 28 now how on earth do I sell 30/32 to them like you Fylde Seasider not a flaming chance they'll pay it.
It's a 15% rise

Exactly. Lowest budget by far in the Championship but almost the most expensive match day tickets. A real kick in the goolies for the average Sandgrownun.

First time for me too slating Sadler. You have got this badly wrong sunshine!

Anyone who defends it is obviously the selfish, I'm all right Jack, type.

not read the full details yet of the membership. A membership costs £15. Does that get you £5 of a matchday ticket price? So to buy the membership a casual fan has to be certain that he's gonna go to at least four matches to get any benefit from becoming a member. Not convinced that a good few people will commit to this membership scheme. And yep, £32 is way too much.

I thought there was a 6 month payment option through V12 ?

It'll be very interesting to see what attendances are like next season, and how many people actually buy a membership. If the take up on memberships is low, i'm intrigued as to how the club will react because you just aren't going to get any people paying on the day at £32.

Was just about to ask this - is that not possible? If not that needs changing.

I said on another thread that if we are to have a charged membership scheme, why no have an early bird discount on that too…..whilst those with cash are buying season tickets, those without can get a membership now for say a fiver and they only have to use it once to break even and are saving thereafter. Seems a no brainer to me.

£15 after the season starts to cater for those late on the bandwagon when we challenge for promotion

Sounds like season ticket price is good. So anybody doing half the games or more should get one. A few less than half the games, I reckon buy a ST and sell tickets when you cannot go. People will likely snap them up for 20 quid if it's 32 quid otherwise. Really only bad for those doing minimal games and hopefully those can buy from ST holders who cannot go.

I bet that less than 2% of our match day attendances across the entire season are class as "walk ins" IE, they have decided on the day to go to the game. Maybe even less, probably closer to 0.5% so those quoting 32 quid isn't worth talking about.

Get a 0 interest balance transfer card and buy your season ticket that way. I’ll be buying mine on my credit card and transferring it to just that

Just an observation: I cross-checked the artist’s impression from AFL Architects against Google Earth and it appears the main entrance will not be off Garstang Rd West as I expected, but from Grange Park, Steeton Rd, opposite Paythorne Cl.

Reading everyone's thoughts I think an allowance for members and STH to buy at least one extra ticket with the fiver off would alleviate a lot of the concerns without having to alter the new price structure. Maybe one for the SLO to look at.

Must say I tend to agree with this and it'll be very interesting to see what the club do by August if they have had a very poor take up on the membership.

That's good thinking. 👍 12/13 matches will cost about the same as a season ticket. ST holders can resell to non ST holders. An app to do this might be handy! Ticket exchange.

We should be encouraging `half-hearted' fans to attend more regularly.

I'm afraid £30 prices, £15 memberships etc. will just put them off.
Tend to agree and strangely having had the amount of publicity we’ve had in the last week it would be a good time to pick up some of the part timers.
