Once appointed and settled down and sign a few players everyone will calm down and get back to normal.
Look at LR. Most on here hyped him up as a great appointment despite the fact he has no managerial experience.

Yes. Average in League 1 and style of football was shite last time he was here, even with some excellent attacking options.

He'd ruin the team photo that's for sure. Can't say I warmed to him, but then again it was in the poisonous Karl era, so that has to be factored in. I guess we have to trust the process and Simon's judgement. We are not best placed.

Appleton came to us at the very start of his managerial career and quickly identified that it wasn't a good place to be. He's been relatively successful since, took Oxford up and consolidated, took Lincoln close, punching well above their weight. He's not renowned for attacking football, nor is he renowned for being dour and negative. In the right environment, with the right positivity and reasonable resources, he could be a good appointment. He's certainly not a manager who's really been a failure anywhere.

Blackburn? Blackpool?

He basically did one after a few games. Why would we re-employ someone like that.

On 7 November 2012, Appleton was appointed manager of Blackpool on a one-year rolling contract.[20] His first game in charge was on 10 November 2012, a 2–2 draw at home to Bolton.[21] Appleton earned his first win as Blackpool manager on 1 December 2012, beating Peterborough 4–1 away from home, extending his unbeaten start to five games.[22] He was in charge for a further six League games, of which he won one, drew three and lost two.

After his resignation, he became the shortest-serving Blackpool manager in their history, with just eleven League games under his belt

The BFC Board do read this board and I'm not for one minute suggesting that any decisions should be subject to AVFTT approval. It's also debatable whether AVFTT is actually representative of the wider BFC fan base.
But it is clear that appointing Bad Apple wouldn't be popular so I'd hope that the BFC Board at least bear that in mind.
However Big Ben did warn us not to pay too much attention to what we would read and hear whilst this process is ongoing so I'll try and just be a little bit more patient.
(Liam Rosenior's Tangerine Army, just saying).

Yes totally, would be a poor appointment in any context. I am hoping that like all the other rumours that this is just that ..... another rumour. At the moment so many contradictory stories, I think we just have to sit tight and wait.

Whoever the new Manager is he will be backed better than any other manager we have had, the Board will identify
the best candidate ''available'' and who fits in with there criteria etc. If it is Appleton I would back him and so should
all the experts on here.

Can't say I blame him for leaving Blackpool under the Oystons, we were a basket case. But I still don't want him back. Duff for me please. Hijack the Barnsley deal please

I wouldn’t mind him tbh but would prefer someone we’d not had before. The problem is if it is MA then he’d be on a hiding to nothing before a ball’s even kicked. It’s pretty clear that most don’t want him, imagine if he lost the first 3 games? He’d be under pressure from the start and I don’t think we need that as a club.

If it’s him there’s a senior’s season ticket going on EBay. I’m not paying train fares every week to watch his football.
