Photography?

Anyone into taking pictures?

With the new fancy board, would a photography thread be a nice distraction from arguing and missing the football? Nowt fancy, phone pics or mad keen SLR stuff, whatever, no need to be an expert or owt...

Anyone up for that?
Only use my phone but I do like a good piccy, what's good? No idea, just something I like

Bought a little macro lens for my phone. Only a tenner and it's ace. Really difficult to focus though... (can others see the pic - not sure if I can share them like this...?)

I tried this just before the lockdown but nobody seemed interested good luck. It's a pain on pc easier on iphone (not sure about Android)

Starting to appreciate a good photograph these days. Atmospheric ones capturing life and nature.
Could definitely become a hobby I would enjoy. Relaxing.

Ashton Gardens this afternoon just behind where we live, we’re very fortunate to live so close to such a gorgeous setting.

I just uploaded that from my iPad. Just click on landscape photo icon, between links and smiley, then click and upload is what I did. You have a choice between thumbnail and full size. Only second time i’ve done it on this site and survived totell the
Thanks, it works!

I don't profess to be any good, but for me it's about capturing the moment & you can get pretty decent shots on your phone these days. I bought an modest DSLR when we got married & have had some good results without getting too technical, RAW images give you more scope when editing, although a good original is the key, the trouble is you need to lug it round with you, whereas you've always got your phone with you, so I only tend to take it for specific things.

Same - I bought a new camera last year (a bridge) and it's mediocre. My phone was cheaper than the camera and aside from the zoom, it absolutely destroys it. The bridge has better controls, so it's possible play and get technical and to take a wider range of shots, but the basic image quality of my phone is outrageously good when you think the camera only has to be a camera and the phone is doing all the other stuff it does - and the phone was cheaper than the actual camera!!!!. I usually end up thinking 'oh, I forgot my camera again'

Read an interesting article that said 'if camera makers put the effort into improving software in cameras that mobile phone companies do, they'd be unbelievable'

I've got an ancient bottom of the range DSLR I bought second hand about 10 years ago and it's nice, but I can no longer connect it to any of my computers to get stuff off it and the memory card is ancient.

RAW editing is ace - can shoot in RAW in quite a few phones now as well but I generally don't bother for my phone cos it fills it up with massive files.

Cleveleys. The sea always looks good.

Really like that.

Lots of happy memories of that shoreline. Last time I took my nan out properly, we walked up there and had a really lovely day with my lad and her, she loved the prom and I have so many memories of being a kid with her, and taking my lad up there with her and him leaping about and being daft and her on her sticks smiling and teasing him in the salt wind before we all had ice cream... Those days last forever in the mind.

I've got a bit of grit in my eye in a nice way.

It's a cracking photo! the balance of it is lovely, the colours all really work, the line of the sea and all that. I don't know owt about it technically, but I just really like that!

Saw them yesterday the big ones gave the dog a loud hiss when going past at more than 2 metres distance. It was not the usual atmosphere yesterday as there were groups of yoofs either stoned or pissed just being stupid 🙄
Yeh, they’re very protective. The yoofs seem to congregate most nice evenings at the mo, you nearly end up stoned yourself by the time you’ve walked through! Lol.
