Tin pot

What sort of planning would be involved to get the game postponed? Sounds a bit conspiracy theory?
They all got in a huddle & started a colder colder chant the weather obviously obliged. 😬 think we’ll take the dogs on a none muddy frozen 🥶 walk this afternoon now. Was looking forward to it, but it does give MM a week or so to work with the players & a free hit next Saturday in what could be considered a pre season friendly.

Absolutely fuming to be honest, seething. Didn’t even consider this to happen - we need to be better than this, it’s tinpot.
I thought it would be on TBH forecast said -1 but looking at our grass it’s been a fair bit colder than that. Shame for all of us especially the exiles ☹️

Four of my grandsons are playing today, one at St.Annes under 12, one for Sheffield Utd u16 at Middlesborough and the other two down south. I don’t understand how Blackpool can be called off.

The Club is going to be renamed Blackpool Amateur Football Club.

Btw. The grass verges in Bispham are perfectly playable.

What a bunch of clowns. How about the club reimbursing people for all of the expense they've already incurred trying to get to the game.

This is why, stop ** moaning, it makes total sense if you understand why.

You have to understand that the majority of the ground is covered from the sun at this time of year by the stands, it's not just last night's frost, it is a cumulative effect over several nights, once the frost is in the soil and temperatures stay belo freezing or just above for some of the time then the ground will get harder and harder, deeper and deeper. It is no surprise to me the game is off, temperatures on the pitch will probably not been above zero for however long the frost has been there, if it was down here it is 6 days now and the ground, even in the sun is absolutely rock hard.

I know a lot are upset because of the new manager syndrome but ou would all be moaning like fuck if we lost 3 players to injury because of it. It is the right decision and MM can now really get stuck in with the training and go and have a free hit next week before our next league game. The euphoria of his first home match ill just have to wait.

FFS!! Some of you haven't got a clue, we aren't playing on a grass verge in fulll sun and if you went onto the grass verge you would feel the ground was rock hard. Do you want us to have yet more injuries? It's not just you, it's lots of you and it's typical of this board moaning like fuck about something they have no idea on what they are talking about. The only thing that would have saved our game is undersoil heating.

Was looking forward to the game mysef but can understand it getting called off ,why risk injury to players when we are already struggling ,cant blame the club for the weather or not having undersoil heating ,thats down to the old regime, anyway lookin forward to the cup game now,got my tickets this morning.

Nothing to do with undersoil heating.

All the junior football matches in the area are being played.

They do have heaters at BR for the pitch obviously big Mick doesn’t fancy it 🙄

Good rant. Nice story bro.

We want to shake off the little Blackpool tag, but never do ourselves any favours in order to achieve that. It's above freezing now, and will be 4 degrees at kick off. If we're going to call off games with those kind of temperatures, then we're never going to get through a winter without at the very least half a dozen postponements I'm afraid. I can understand postponements during severe frosts where the temps don't get above freezing, but frankly it's ridiculous that this game is off.

I get that if gives MM a chance to work with the players, but the problem is that every single time we've had a reason for hope this season, it's almost immediately been dashed by something, and I really don't think that bodes well for where we end up at the end.

Lots of ridiculously sarcastic comments on here. Under soil heating is the obvious answer to the frozen pitch issue, but at present they don't have it, so what's the problem? Do we really go back 30 years to when players were told to play on unplayable surfaces? I don't think so - the injury list is bad enough as it is. Also, if there were ever a good time for a game to be called off, it's now. A vitally important match that Huddersfield would have been really up for, yet Blackpool and MM would have had little time to prepare for. Let's remember MM is an experienced and well thought of coach, but he's not a magician. Now he'll be given more time with the players, with the next game being relatively unimportant in the overall scheme of things. A definite win/win situation for me.

Seriously you think it’s OK?

They have heaters, they have used them before.

Big Mick has bottled it that’s the reason 😳

Yer wasting your time, they need somebody to burn!

But some grass and amateur pitches get sun. The stadium largely doesn't because of the stands.

I think there maybe a bit of planning involved. Cup game next. 2 weeks for Mick work his magic, players to recover from injury (we don't know how many were out) and for new signings to arrive. Disappointed but it's for the best. .
Conspiracy theory:
Our academy boys watered the pitch last night & we left the covers off.
The PP will enable Mick & TC to work with the players before their first game. They can recruit a couple & send a few out.
I just hope we're not bottom of the table at 5pm 😁

Good timing I think. Still it’s given the perpetual misery from Wales something to keep him in more misery.
I'm not a misery and I'm not from Wales

Just a bit gutted that I was on route to watch my team when I heard the news

Was really looking forward to today

It's OK for those who live round the corner but a bit shite for exiles

Surely even you can put your hatred to one side and see that

Seriously Micky Mouse operation

Lost the momentum going into this sell out match now.

😳🙄
The Walt Disney Corporation has tabled a bid to buy the club.

Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

This is a balls up. Have the integrity to acknowledge it.

I think we may look back on today as a blessing. 👍

Oooh hark at Percy fecking Thrower 😂

Lighting rigs are for grass growth. No mention of heaters, do we have any?

I'm not convinced the club will have wanted the game off. Fixture congestion and lots of inconvenience.

Yes, a bloody big one up in the sky. I know it's nearly 93 million miles away but it seems to work.

Well that saved me a lot of typing herts.
Thank you 🙏
Look at Morecambe their pitch gets far more daytime sun than us and the picture of their pitch with what looks like similar covers is off.
Blame the Stains people for our prem legacy.

You're a ** idiot, if we had undersoil heating then great, game would be on but we don't and for the reasons I have stated that is why the game is off so stop spouting bollocks on something you don't understand.

Oi, I rarely get the chance to talk about something I actually know about, I usually spout utter bollocks like the rest of us, let me have my moment of glory, please!! 😂

Mind you. I'm pissing up a wall with some on here who just don't get it. I understand everyone is gutted but it's not the clubs fault it is what it is and it is the right decision. I wasn't going to be able to watch it but my plans for today have been transferred to tomorrow now so I am just as gutted.
