All these people saying never mind haven’t spent over £200 to come all this way for the weekend! Furious to say the least. Weekend ruined.
They all got in a huddle & started a colder colder chant the weather obviously obliged. think we’ll take the dogs on a none muddy frozen walk this afternoon now. Was looking forward to it, but it does give MM a week or so to work with the players & a free hit next Saturday in what could be considered a pre season friendly. What sort of planning would be involved to get the game postponed? Sounds a bit conspiracy theory?
Ok VictorAnother mid week game I'll miss - no season ticket for me next year no matter what league we are in. People saying tactical - tinpot IS the correct term, so disappointed with everything Blackpool FC at this moment
Good question. What are covers actually good for if they can't protect a small frost?
I thought it would be on TBH forecast said -1 but looking at our grass it’s been a fair bit colder than that. Shame for all of us especially the exilesAbsolutely fuming to be honest, seething. Didn’t even consider this to happen - we need to be better than this, it’s tinpot.
I think it’s a great moveHaving a Championship game called off for a cold pitch
Are those pitches surrounded by big stands that block the low sun? Or is thr sun hitting the pitch to thaw it?Four of my grandsons are playing today, one at St.Annes under 12, one for Sheffield Utd u16 at Middlesborough and the other two down south. I don’t understand how Blackpool can be called off.

The SU lad must be a goodun. Nice to hear. Im sure your equally proud of them all of course.Four of my grandsons are playing today, one at St.Annes under 12, one for Sheffield Utd u16 at Middlesborough and the other two down south. I don’t understand how Blackpool can be called off.
Good point, not sure about the Middlesbrough one, but makes you wonder why under soil heating wasn’t installedAre those pitches surrounded by big stands that block the low sun? Or is thr sun hitting the pitch to thaw it?
Costs a bitGood point, not sure about the Middlesbrough one, but makes you wonder why under soil heating wasn’t installed
FFS!! Some of you haven't got a clue, we aren't playing on a grass verge in fulll sun and if you went onto the grass verge you would feel the ground was rock hard. Do you want us to have yet more injuries? It's not just you, it's lots of you and it's typical of this board moaning like fuck about something they have no idea on what they are talking about. The only thing that would have saved our game is undersoil heating. The Club is going to be renamed Blackpool Amateur Football Club.
Btw. The grass verges in Bispham are perfectly playable.
What a bunch of clowns. How about the club reimbursing people for all of the expense they've already incurred trying to get to the game.
Was looking forward to the game mysef but can understand it getting called off ,why risk injury to players when we are already struggling ,cant blame the club for the weather or not having undersoil heating ,thats down to the old regime, anyway lookin forward to the cup game now,got my tickets this morning.
Good rant. Nice story bro. This is why, stop ** moaning, it makes total sense if you understand why.
You have to understand that the majority of the ground is covered from the sun at this time of year by the stands, it's not just last night's frost, it is a cumulative effect over several nights, once the frost is in the soil and temperatures stay belo freezing or just above for some of the time then the ground will get harder and harder, deeper and deeper. It is no surprise to me the game is off, temperatures on the pitch will probably not been above zero for however long the frost has been there, if it was down here it is 6 days now and the ground, even in the sun is absolutely rock hard.
I know a lot are upset because of the new manager syndrome but ou would all be moaning like fuck if we lost 3 players to injury because of it. It is the right decision and MM can now really get stuck in with the training and go and have a free hit next week before our next league game. The euphoria of his first home match ill just have to wait.
Happened me twice before after flying over its very annoyingFFS do they not know I’ve travelled 300 miles for this games and will have another 300 mile drive back on Monday
Perhaps we can play it on the grass verges In BisphamThe Club is going to be renamed Blackpool Amateur Football Club.

Using the rigs means taking the covers off at a time when they are most needed on at night.Lighting rigs are for grass growth. No mention of heaters, do we have any?
I'm not convinced the club will have wanted the game off. Fixture congestion and lots of inconvenience.

But some grass and amateur pitches get sun. The stadium largely doesn't because of the stands. The Club is going to be renamed Blackpool Amateur Football Club.

Conspiracy theory:I think there maybe a bit of planning involved. Cup game next. 2 weeks for Mick work his magic, players to recover from injury (we don't know how many were out) and for new signings to arrive. Disappointed but it's for the best. .

FFS . Go and support city theyve got loads of money.KnobAnother mid week game I'll miss - no season ticket for me next year no matter what league we are in. People saying tactical - tinpot IS the correct term, so disappointed with everything Blackpool FC at this moment
I'm not a misery and I'm not from WalesGood timing I think. Still it’s given the perpetual misery from Wales something to keep him in more misery.
Good point, if they do, do it on the frozen part of the pitch, win win.Yer wasting your time, they need somebody to burn!
The pitches are in full sun and they're kids not million pound players, FFS I give up!!Nothing to do with undersoil heating.
All the junior football matches in the area are being played.
They do have heaters at BR for the pitch obviously big Mick doesn’t fancy it
The Walt Disney Corporation has tabled a bid to buy the club.Seriously Micky Mouse operation
Lost the momentum going into this sell out match now.

Everyone looking forward to todays match too. On a high with a new manager etc. Great atmosphere with fans up for it.Having a Championship game called off for a cold pitch
Have they forgiven us for that end of season abandonment yet?My son's made it to Killington Lake.
Turn around and come home
Huddersfield fans will be really unhappy.
We've a long way to go before we get the infrastructure right.

You're a ** idiot, if we had undersoil heating then great, game would be on but we don't and for the reasons I have stated that is why the game is off so stop spouting bollocks on something you don't understand. The Walt Disney Corporation has tabled a bid to buy the club.
Stop trying to defend the indefensible.
This is a balls up. Have the integrity to acknowledge it.
Bit messy mind.Good point, if they do, do it on the frozen part of the pitch, win win.
Oi, I rarely get the chance to talk about something I actually know about, I usually spout utter bollocks like the rest of us, let me have my moment of glory, please!!I think we may look back on today as a blessing.

But varies with time of year and angle of trajectory. No mention of heaters, do we have any?
Yes, a bloody big one up in the sky. I know it's nearly 93 million miles away but it seems to work.
