The answer to OP's question is undoubtedly YES, and anyone saying otherwise is a liar, because we were all content with dull football in the 2020-2021 promotion season (where we 5 less goals than this season) because it yielded the result we all wanted.

Fair point, being in this division does de facto make you not great and we should fear no one, but on paper the league will be much much tougher IMO. Yes no Derby and Pompey, but there will be many more teams who in theory should be better on paper. Obviously they won’t all be decent since...

Think the same here, Wrexham will fancy themselves as dark horses with their documentary money and they’re already above the average wage bill for League 1 clubs. Nightmarish division.

But Wigan and Reading were never challenging because they were deducted points and were unable to sign players clubs of their size should have been signing. That’s the point, there won’t be any problem clubs coming down next season hence a stronger league.
