For me Grimmy is a top 10 lg1 keeper and nothing more. He is a great shot stopper but does not command his area or catch any crosses whatsoever for reasons I cannot fathom why. If he left would it weaken us? I would say no as there are plenty of other comparable keepers out there.
I’ve just listened to his interview - was more downcast than he normally is and felt like he was resigned to knowing he can’t get much more out of this group. Said all the right things re keep fighting etc but you get the feeling he knows this season is done and he is looking at next season
You could be right. Sometimes it just runs its course with a player and a change does them the world of good. Whatever it is for me it was last chance saloon today- he needed to take the game by the scruff of the neck and he simply didn’t. If we want to be serious contenders next season he needs...
Don’t totally agree with that - Sure Critchley is responsible for his development but if you look at the total amount of time he has been out injured it’s substantial. Feels a bit like his hamstrings are made of paper. Critchley can only do so much but the player has to progress and Lavery...
The key word is ‘had’ - Lavs has never been the same since he injured his hamstring against Blackburn in the first season in the Champ. He I is simply not the same player and has not progressed at all. His ball control is poor, he isn’t that quick and always looks to me like he is carrying to...
Sonny was signed from Kings Lynn where he was getting rave reviews and a number of league clubs were after him. He was signed with the potential to develop and become a top quality midfielder. For me he has shown glimpses of the potential we saw but he has never kicked on and is no better now...
Championship clubs will be queuing up for him next season also Brest know they have a real asset so the asking price will be way out of our price range - either way not a hope hell we will be able to sign him regardless how much we might want to
The number of teams he can play in is somewhat limited and those teams I suspect won’t be able to match his wage demands. Therefore he might end up staying. Knowing Marv is leaving is I think the reason we bought the lad from Burnley in January so as to give his time to bed in etc.
Probably no worse or better than ours or many teams at this time of year. They have had problems over the last few years and have spent a fortune on pitches with little tangible reward - Darragh McAnthony their chairman and owner is talking about a DESSO pitch next summer. Since they built the...
When he sighed he looked a real handful, had the pedigree with his goals for Northen Ireland and looked a real prospect. Then he did his hamstring at home to Blackburn and to be honest had never looked the same player since. He is to injury prone, feels like a Rooney type to me in that he needs...
