Obviously some people will do that but the adverts still reach a higher percentage of viewers than they do in other programming which is less likely to be watched live
This doesn’t apply to BBC obviously but the other reason football is attractive to commercial television is that it attracts the right demographic of viewer for certain advertisers and viewers are more likely to be watching live so can’t skip the adverts.

I don’t know how familiar you are with Hearts but they should have gone further in Europe and should have been in the top six before the split. The fact that they finished in the bottom six and then lost today meant that he wasn’t going to last much longer.
