Tickets for this game now on sale for Sat 24 Feb 3pm. Hoping we can get this one nearly sold out as could be a massive game. Anyone know if they are just getting 2,000?

I’ve nothing against giving them 2,000 if demand is there and the other half of the east is going to be packed with our own fans.
But we all know that’s not going to be the case so it’s just plain crazy in my opinion.

i think the only game this season we could get the East open for us would be Bolton but must admit that is very unlikely.

I just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.
Another 2,000 fans x £25 is £50,000, granted there would be concessions in that for the young and old but it would still be a great income which we just don’t seem to be bothered about.
Like I said It just seems crazy to me turning down large amounts of cash.

I don't think the extra ticket sales bring in as much profit as we think. The extra security requirements, the extra facilities etc. I reckon there are significant costs attached to opening the North side of the east to away fans. Whereas the away fans in the south half can use the facilities in the southeast corner, and the security is easier to deal with.

Oh yes, tucked up nice a warm in front of the telly. Less gate receipts, but a bit of telly money and it was obviously too expensive for a lot who want owt fer nowt, but at the same time expect SS to plunge his hand in his pocket and buy overpriced prima donas and get us to the top flight, and then there are those who despite many warnings still cant behave. Referring, of course to the flare at the Forest match, who, if the north east was given to the away team would cause havoc.
So I suppose we must be a tinpot club with tinpot supporters.

It's very basic portaloo and outside container selling bottles of beer but it works.
When North East has been sold to the aways they get the area and smoking section is shifted to outside gate 3/4.

Think it’s a bit intimidating for the players with 4000 away fans so close to the pitch, I’d rather leave it as is for a home advantage and take 3 points rather than an extra few quid.I just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.

As our home record shows we are decent at home, why give an away team anything to help

Possibly £100,00-£150,000 in lost revenue is not to be sniffed at for a club like us and would have actually made more money than winning the Bristol Street Motors final which most on here have now said it’s worth winning.

This us why we need the East Stand doing ASAP. We are losing a fortune from away support revenue. We will never sustain regular top 2 league football like our rivals, Preston, Blackburn & Burnley. Preston have allocated nearly 6,000 to Blackburn. It really makes us look tinpot.

Don’t have an opinion on this but it’s odd because I definitely remember most people saying the club shouldn’t be selling extra in the East when it was happening and now they aren’t everyone is saying they should

So what happens in the Championship when your costs are even higher and we still have thousands of empty seats?
We're trying to compete which we struggle against other clubs revenue wise,and with big away followings 6/7 times a year at least throwing hundreds of thousands down the drain makes no sense.
POG home fans had to pay £30 last season the clubs justification was maximizing revenue from away fans so we had to charge the same.
This is a total contradiction of what's happening currently.

Won’t happen neither will training ground. The same things will get out in the gazette every year about training ground and east stand.
Doubt we will ever see it happen. If one were to happen it would be the east as we would have help getting that funded.
Training ground id say is dead in the water.

I get that the current east isn’t ideal but the club has coped in the past with 4,000 away so why not now?
I appreciate that I don’t go and haven’t for a long time so if there are other mitigating circumstances then please feel free to enlighten me.

The big question though is ‘if’ we get promoted not sure we will to be honest just too much to do and we’re relying on at least 2 clubs to fail above us big ask.

Allocating 6,000 to the away club makes you look tinpot, because you can't sell enough home tickets.
You don't get 6,000 at Anfield, Old Trafford, St James Park, Emirates etc etc.
There's nothing wrong with restricting away teams to half the East, especially when it always kicks off if you put fans near the North.

Yeah we've had a lot of those critical exiles, I guess they don't realise the very reason they didn't go is the reason many others didn't, in that we have a lot of exiles that make up a decent chunk of the fanbase. I can't remember the breakdown but it was posted on here before.

I’m an exile and therefore try to be mindful of what I post as I’m aware it is very easy to rub up regular attendees the wrong way.
I won’t always be though, well the intention is to a least get back on the same continent as Blackpool, and I hope that when I’m able to attenuate least some games again it will be in a higher division and with a new east. To help facilitate this BFC need to take all the revenue it can whenever it can imo but if the current facilities don’t allow for this then fair enough.
