U18s in friendly action.

21' - GOALLLL!!!!
Layton Campbell beats his man before blasting it high into the back of the net. Just what Pool deserve.
0-1

Brockhall training ground & the Rovers academy setup is extremely impressive.
I visited there a few years ago & was chatting to the U19's head coach. They had players in their large squad from all over the place including europe. I asked how many would be likely to make it as professionals & he said that if they signed 2 they would be delighted, but more like to be 1!
Let's hope SS's plans for our new training ground eventually turn into reality.

Plenty of unfamiliar names there?
So who do want to know about?
First up I didn't go today. It was however an impressive result against Cat 1 Academy outfit Blackburn. I've no idea if they played their "best" players but we gave a couple of our u16s a chance to prove they deserve a scholarship.
Oluchi Nwankwo.
Never seen him play.
Takudzwa Gwanzura.
The mystery player announced as a signing by David Bailey earlier this week. He looks a big lad for a 16yr old.
Again no nothing about him.
Theo Upton.
He"s another of our promising u16s. He's played a couple of times for the u18s and so far as I recall he did OK. His Grandad is a very well known face at Bloomfield Rd and at most away games.
Ky-Mani Leliendal.
Another one (who I have seen) from our u16s. He's diminutive but looks packed full of skill.
Is there anything else I can help you with? 😉

Theo Upton’s grandad referred to above sadly passed away a year or so ago.
Well someone, who I know by sight, spoke to me a couple of weeks back and told me he was Theo's Grandad.
We do generally have 2 Grandads. Are they both dead?

What are they feeding some of these youngsters vs others....
