George Byers

Will be very impressed if this comes off. Definitely softens the blow of missing out on Moxon. Making it a loan probably helped our cause on this one. He gets a chance to impress before his contract is up to earn a good new deal (either with us or elsewhere) and we get a player desperate to do well.
What Moxon blow exactly is that?
He played well in a promotion winning league 2 side last season and done the grand total of Jack shit this season in league 1.

The question is, who does he replace in the starting XI? Critch is a huge Norburn fan, and he is the captain. And Morgan is in great form.

The logical thing would be to replace Morgan, or a CB. Neither will happen, not straight away. I can see him on the bench coming on for Dembele with Morgan moving up the pitch.

Most new signings start off on the bench. If Morgan regresses to being "decent" rather than the star he's been lately, we have a quality player to come in and replace him.

He's Ken's replacement in the squad, which is a good move. Shame it's only for the season but you get good players in your team when you can and by all accounts he is one.

Massive fans seem to generally say he was superb in League One but struggled this season in the Champ. Seems he's had his injury problems though

I wouldn't be dropping Morgan at the moment, and what's this about dropping a CB?

I think Byers will be in the side in the near future, so something has got to give.

No point bringing in all these players if we don’t play a system that doesn’t suits/ accommodates them all. It is positive but doesn’t address the real problem of our formation and tactics.

He could go flat back 4. He won't but it's a a way of playing all the midders.
How would it work? 433? Then we'd have loads of CBs competing for 2 spots, and attacking players for 3 spots. The squad seems geared to 3 at the back and wing backs surely.

By the same token you have lots of mids competing for basically one spot. ON and KD are auto picks.

Really? Have you attended enough Sheff Wednesday games to give an opinion or have you simply formed an opinion having seen a few YouTube videos or heaven forbid a firestick!
Yeah i watch football that believe it or not doesn't always have to involve Blackpool

Byers was quality last time he played in League 1

Matthews Matthews floating down the wing. Georgie Byers gonna do his thing. Came to Bloomers in our hour of need . tangerine tangerine thats what we bleed.

Norburn Morgan Byers midfield sounds pretty good to me
Of course, but it would involve a change of system and Critch seems rigidly glued to his current system. And we wouldn' want a return to that flat 3 would we? Maybe we would. We'll have to see if Critch has something up his sleeve.
