The firestick fans

I tend to agree with Phil ( did I just write that!) I don't attend games ( except Wolves away in the cup) but watch matches on Tangerine TV , Sky red button ( don't have a firestick) but very rarely pass comments on a player's performance or tactics. If you are watching at home you don't get the full picture .
Some of the comments I read on the Match day threads are embarrassing and laughable.

Weird lot

Don't go to matches yet feel if acceptable to have a pop at the players on social media as well being complete know it alls on all things football whilst sitting at home with a brew and biscuits contributing nothing to the club

The local ones are the worst for it as at least the ones down South go to 1 or 2 away games when it's around the corner from where they live

The internet has a lot to answer for
Couldn't agree more Phil, those like you and I who actually attend matches in person are a dying breed.

Games gone.

I tend to follow the game better when I watch at home. I've not had a drink, less distractions, no chanting (maybe a sing-a-long if I can hear our fans) better view of the game side on as I'm usually behind the goal, benefits of replays etc.

I think I've watched enough live football to be able to form an opinion from TTV. Obviously prefer the real thing if possible.

That’s not a good enough excuse I’m afraid.

You should get on a plane every Saturday morning (Friday is exceptable) same for midweek games fly to Manchester airport Uber taxi to the the ground and return again same way however overnight stays are allowed.

Just no excuse at all for not attending games living in Spain.

Ps
Do you have a fire stick though?
Yep!;)

Tbf I live in Sheffield and haven't seen us play at home in years! Also, I don't give a flying fuck what anyone thinks about it. All the Blades and Owls I know have no doubt I'm a proud Seasider. In 1988 i took buses from Chipping to Blackpool, and back, hitching the last 5 miles, aged 16. We never got out of the bottom 4 and were proper shit.

I live in the Falklands and by the time I've yomped over to Stanley, well I have a few pints and before you know it I've missed the supporters coach. So, it's back home to catch the second half on my fire stick. Soz but I do my best.

Both my brothers watch games abroad and pay for them and so not all fans who don't go are fire stick fans (although I like the expression!)

I'm what I would call a hybrid fan.

I'll get to about 15 in person games per season - games in Blackpool being a 300 mile round trip.

Then I supplement in the in-person with the Firestick.

They both have merits; no queues, no vapes, no West Stand Phantom Farter and a stable internet connection to slag off fellow fans, the manager, the referee, the players etc on here; as well as replay of incidents, - and I'm always warm.

In-person; gives a bit a better perspective, no inane drivel from Chisnall and the fun of the grassing app which has been used to good effect to have the moaning old gits in the north kicked out for sexism when they asked me to sit down.

Firesticks are great for the football itch and less smelly than going to Fleetwood.

It's a tough one.
Exiles want to remain involved.
Travel in the UK is a total nightmare - traffic jams, train strikes, the costs involved.
Perhaps all Firestick users should start & caveat posts with: 'I'm a Firestick tw@t ...'

Looking forward to getting my firesticks when my Sky contract ends in May. I’ll need some help with it though, I’m not all that handy with tech

I live in Spain and support the team from my armchair. To suggest that I shouldn't have any opinions about the Club and the team is just a load of introvert nonsense. I don't comment on ticket prices or attendances because I don't attend myself, unless I'm in the UK at any point, BUT I have lots of views about the team, the players, the standard of football etc etc. Sounds to me like some on here belong in a state where there is no freedom of speech.
I’m absolutely with you @Murciaseasider. People have different situations.

I did my first game back in 1978 (vs Arsenal in FA cup). Moved away from the Fylde Coast in 1979. Have lived all over the place, including NewZealand. Came home for two Cardiff/ Wembley visits. Held a season ticket until the boycott throughout so I had the option of home games.

Cannot go to games now for health reasons, though did see the Mighty last game of the season last year here in Norwich. Religiously watch TTV when I can. Read this site several times a day (habit).

There’s a profound difference between expressing opinions and being opinionated.

How do I get BFC games on a Fire stick?
The dodgy way is to find a bloke near where you live (ideally) to set you up with an app usually on a firestick, but can be loaded direct onto an android tv that shows all sky, tnt and ifollow footy games. Other way - subscribe to the ifollow thingy. There'll be a stick geezer near you for sure.

I can manage that. Is it free

As I understand it, the best way for a UK Exile who cannot easily get to all the games is to instal a VPN, subscribe … this costs but not too expensive. It is a legal, security app for your PC, laptop, phone etc.
Set your VPN for a friendly European country, log onto the club site and pay your tenner to get access to the game.
I have a friend who does this, and it is generally very good option.
The club gets your ticket money and you get to see the game… win win!

I’m sure we all know someone who would help you instal the app if you aren’t IT savvy.

personally I prefer to use my season ticket and the 5/6 hr return drive 👍

I have stopped going to games.
However I wouldn't dream of criticizing players or a match which I haven't seen.

We all had opinions in the covid season.

You actually see a lot more on tv in some cases, less in others. Compared to being in the north where a shot at the other end could be going in or could be crossing the penalty box, you can't always tell.

I don't have as firestick so I listen to away games on the radio. Am I allowed to express an opinion on today's game? If I can then I'll say we were sh#t .

How, do you know that the comment was embarrassing and laughable, if you do not see the full picture?
