NEW SIGNING | DAN SASSI: First Interview.

Looking good this. However, whilst Critch places faith in youngsters developed by Burnley and Southampton, Blackpool youngsters just seem to get shown the door.
No Blackpool youngsters (apart from Apter) would be good enough.

Our academy is light years behind where it should be which is why Critch is so reluctant. It's gotten better, but not there yet.

Welcome and good luck.

Seems to have enough height, good in the air he says, strength etc and does he have pace?

Not a lot to go off and some of it from a couple years ago nearly on YouTube.

But it'll be interesting to see how he does and when he gets a chance.

Sadly, I agree, as I don’t think that Eardley and Dobbie have had enough time to fully develop youth potential yet enough to be able to take the step up.

It’s a massive leap up to senior football and signings like Sassi are slightly more ‘ready made’.

SS said when he bought the club that he wanted the correct structure at the club.

New training facilities in the pipeline and purchasing seemingly decent quality youngsters like Sassi and Finnigan seem the right way forward. Whether that includes here and now, time will tell.

I seem to recall that our development teams perform well in the various leagues (it is difficult to find tables etc... on our youth teams) so we must have fairly decent youngsters. Whether Apter, Holmes, Mariette et al make the grade gawd knows.

Good luck Dan. Make us proud.
