Which Player was our biggest 'missed out on'

For me, will always be Jamie Vardy. Any other names?

Veteran striker Jamie Vardy says his age will not define him and credits Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca for helping him evolve this season.

The 37-year-old came off the bench to score twice in Saturday's 5-0 win at Stoke, which took his season tally to 10 goals in all competitions.
It had Leicester fans chanting for "10 more years" of Vardy, whose goals helped the Foxes to Premier League and FA Cup glory in the past decade.

"Age is just a number," Vardy said.

"You are as as old as you feel, how your legs feel, and I make sure I look after myself and make sure I recover right and do extra when I'm at home.

"So as long as I keep doing that, I'll keep feeling fresh."

Vardy, who is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season, has scored three times in his past two appearances - after only recently returning from a knee injury.

When asked by BBC Radio Leicester about his form and taking his tally to 180 goals for the Foxes, Vardy replied: "I don't really look back, it's all about looking forward."

Colin Bell ....were due to sign him from Bury early 1966 but went to then 2nd division Man City , the fool!!

Shaun Goater....early 1996 , would have scored the goals to secure promotion but Oyston wouldn't meet the fee.
Goater would certainly have made a difference and was my first thought. Vardy is of course another good shout but would he have just given an Owen an opportunity to top up the ATM when he moved on as he inevitably would have?

A story that Ian Holloway likes to tell is that we were very close to signing Medhi Benatia in the prem season.

He went on to win multiple trophies for Bayern Munich and Juventus in the years that followed.
Subsequently went on to sign for a about £80 million in fees over his career and play for top top teams through Europe.

Koko didn’t want to pay €100000 apparently 😂

Probably lost himself £15-20 million with that one decision

For goodness sake, don't start suggesting that Karl was clever but missed out. He's a thick bully boy with the personality of pig shit.

John Hughes. Agree a fee of £100k (in cash) and OO flew by helicopter with the money to Berwick Rangers to sign him. If I remember it was a Saturday and OO went to meet him straight after their game. Hughes must have rejected the overtures.

Who was the guy from Nice? Chose Luton over us presumably because of Easyjet flights.

Robert Pritz was another, who actually went on to have a decent career.

It’s a bit hypothetical saying who we missed out on because we will never know how a particular player would settle at Blackpool.
Case for example Tony Kellow, He was scoring for fun at Exeter, we bought him and he certainly didn’t live up to expectations so he went back there and started scoring again
I do honestly believe that certain players have a special affinity with a particular club (Brett for example)

Tony Kellow was before my time so I had to google him. What a fantastic photo this is.
