If he was to change?

Saturday at Peterborough. We line up 442. Critch has changed his mind about his ‘footballing principles’ and has reverted to what worked for him first time round.

Has his commitment to this system that doesn’t work gone on for too long for us as fans to respect the change of heart? Would he lose the respect of the players(if there is any to begin with)?

Who am I kidding? There is no chance is there 😂

For me he’s already lost any respect. At Fleetwood away is the only time he’s made changes at half time and that was purely due to fan pressure at half time which shows how weak he is.

If he changes his plans now he’s giving into fan pressure again rather than responding to what he’s seeing on the pitch which is what a manager should do, and if he continues to stick to his guns he’s too stubborn and too unskilled as a manager to positively influence situations.

For me the time to make changes to our approach has long since been and gone so whatever he does now he has already lost the faith and the respect of the fans so he needs to go

It's his last chance. Surely he must be considering a change in tactics. He will be fully aware of the outside noise.

The main tactical failing away from home is the formation cannot cope with big aggressive long ball teams.

If he had announced 4 at the back but with Penn and Hubby as full backs I wouldn’t have berated him. We can then play more attacking full backs at home or against passing teams.

The formation isn’t working against big teams. Unfortunately this league suits 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and it’s just a physical battle.

I don't understand where this commitment to 3 at the back has come from. He came to us and clearly wanted to play 4-3-3. This made sense as he'd probably been coaching it at Liverpool as that's the system they play. It didn't work so he had to change to 4-4-2 and he had success with this.

In his second spell it seems like 3 at the back is his new thing, but it's certainly not been a roaring success, especially away from home. Statistically we've done very well at home. Perhaps we could have a different formation when away or at least trying something different when things aren't working?

No chance whatsoever, and therein lies the whole problem. Critchley is either too stupid to realise or too stubborn to change. It's like this business of substitutions only on the 70th minute, regardless of the score or pattern of the game. What the actual fuck is that all about?
