Tuesday's Team

I have given up trying to work out which are our first and second team, so what does Critch do Saturday.
A lot of people said they'd prefer a win on Tuesday than they did last Saturday, so given that same choice again between this Tuesday (Posh) and next Saturday (Bolton) which would you prioritise?

O’Donnell
Pennington ekpiteta husband
Gabriel Morgan Byers norburn lyons
Lavery joseph
BUT I think critch will play some that didnt play
Yesterday so he may go
O’Donnell
Casey ekpiteta husband
Cj carey virtue dembele lyons
Beesley kouassi
Who knows 🤷

I think he will go as strong as possible with the exception of O'Donnell starting. It's a chance to get to Wembley. Some fans might not rate the competition but it'll be huge for the players trying for a chance to play at Wembley.

Where was kouassi on Saturday ? Was he injured ?
I think because the bee was back and chomping at the bit he’s left him out. Gaffer mentioned something about picking the team on the way they train as well as ability. Could be an attitude thing but most likely that he needed Joseph and lavery to run at them all game and bee earned a place. He’s earned a start for me after how sharp he looked on Saturday after being out and assisting.

I'd expect a few changes but given the prize at stake I suspect it won't be as many as other rounds.

Grimshaw
Pennington Ekpiteta Husband
Hamilton Morgan Norburn Byers Lyons
Lavery Joseph

Hopefully a bench with Rhodes, Kouassi and Beesley gives us a few options.

Who in their right mind picks CJ and Connolly in the same team never mind on the same side of the pitch?

Ohh yeah sorry Neil 🤦‍♂️🥴
But they didn't play on Saturday and doubt they will play next Saturday. It's a second rate Cup Competion on Tuesday and the team should reflect that.

I baited that hook for someone else and yes I get that point but they are a terrible twosome when played together like that.
If CJ plays let's hope he and/or Lyons are on their best sides👍

If we get to Wembley you might be surprised how many of our fickle fans suddenly take an interest , except those who don’t like spending more than £20 in a day of course .

And l bet non of them play like they did last Tuesday at Cheltenham with a possible place at Wembley at stake!

Looking at Posh's starting line-up against Wimbledon I think 6 of the 11 started against us last Saturday. The keeper was actually the 1st choice keeper who had been dropped. 4 of the subs that came on Saturday also started in that game.
So maybe we should expect something similar?

Don't care what team Posh put out. In this competition Critchley should continue to make changes, so that players are fresh for Saturday. The League is definitely more important. My team for Tuesday:

O'Donnell
Connolly Casey Husband
Hamilton Virtue Byers Lyons
Dembele
Kouassi Beesley

They had a few coming back from injury on Saturday so maybe they will keep on with there recovery in this game hence put a strong team out.

Most amusing post I've seen on the board in months. As Frank Carson would doubtless have said:

"It's the way you tell 'em!"
Why is it amusing? Hamilton and Connolly didn't start on Saturday and doubtless won't start next Saturday so I would think it
more than likely they will feature tomorrow in a ,let's face it, less meaningful game.

One could argue that (as the play offs looks slightly unlikely this year), going for it in this trophy could spur confidence in the squad for next season.

These are the players who should start: O'Donnell, Lyons, Connolly, Casey, Ekpiteta, Husband, Carey, Norburn, Beesley, Hamilton, Dembele

And a pretty feeble argument that would be!!
The playoffs are a bit unrealistic really as it needs us to go on a run and teams above start dropping points.
I don't know how many 6 pointers there are in those fixtures so one game tomorrow could be Critchley's way of justifying himself for the season with a strong line-up.

Read the "Top 7 to play each other thread". That will give you a clue.

Teams above us have dropped points and we have just gone on a run . A whole game undefeated...just another 9 wins from 9 . Job done

I hope we win tomorrow obviously but I’d be very disappointed if he replaced the players that got us to this stage of the competition, have a very strong bench is what I’d hope for, with posh having much more of a chance of the playoffs I’d imagine they’ll rest the 3 good players that have just come back from injury
A lot of 6 pointers left yet and we are still in it but I almost wish we could get rid of the hope and look forward to next season to put us all out of our misery and accept it !having a minor heart procedure on Sunday so it’d help me if we blew it in the next couple of games!

Good luck with the op 🤗

Isn't it interesting that even though we're kind of picking our second team here that no one has mentioned Carey.
Has a player who would have been in most people's opening day selection ever faded as much as this lad?

All I’m saying is that we need to go on a hell of a run to get something in the league this year… whereas we are two wins away from silverware in this competition.

I’d love to do both!

I reckon this game will be the priority over the Bolton game. Normally that would signal playing your best team, but when has he done that?

O'Donnell
Pennington Ekpiteta Connolly
Lyons Virtue Byers Hamilton
Dembele
Joseph Beesley
