Trust The Process

I think it would be pretty stupid to get rid of the manager based on what we’ve seen this season really.

If you take a step back from the immediacy of another disappointing result and what feels like a number of ‘false dawns’, there have been some superb performances this season and we are probably ending the season stronger than we started it.

As I see it (barring a completely disastrous end to the season) he’s earned the right to keep hold of his job. It’s up to him and the Club to review the season and to get our act in order for next season.

He’s then probably got 10-15 games to prove himself really.
No! You be saying the same thing after those 10-15 games it’s time you faced facts we are never going to prosper with Neil at the wheel

It's a conundrum. Either the budget isn't enough for us to be a competetive L1 team, the players are not good enough or the manager isn't good enough!
Suggest our budget is higher than Lincoln, who if promoted would probably gladly take Virtue off us.
We are not making best use of squad,I have no football coaching badges but how are we to win when Norburn takes the easy pass back every time.
Everyone refers to Connolly as a Critch favourite, but Norburn should be nowhere near the team and we should be playing with swagger, not pretend we are better than other teams cos we have a coach with badges.
I think the players have as little belief in the system as the fans

If you listened to Steve Thompson on commentary today, you would have realised exactly what we are missing in a No2.

He said after 10 minutes we had a static back 5 and needed to push the full backs on and play Dembele as a No10 in the hole. Some 60 minutes later the penny finally dropped with the badge meister and he switched things up despite taking Dembele off.

Norburn is like every other player, a victim of the manager's tactics! Give him the ball with no decent forward options and he'll take the best other option available! Norburn is a good footballer and a good captain. If he only ever recieves the ball with his back to goal, where does anyone expect him to pass it? We'd all be really pissed off if he just blindly lumped it forward! I'd love him to constantly be fed the ball facing forward and there be numerous passing opportunities but we all know Captain Cautious on the bench doesn't like such frivolity from his 8 defenders!

Let's not get too carried away about a few recent results against poor sides. Yes we've struggled with those sort of games and to win is good but we didn't completely outclass the opposition like Lincoln have been and were always 1 game away from one of today's performances, where we completely abandon any thought of passing the ball for large parts.

The question is what is the style of play, the effective style?

I’m not sure it’s me who’s getting ‘carried away’ to be honest. I’m simply saying it how it is and maintaining a sense of perspective.

I think it’s you and others who are getting carried away, which essentially comes as a result of your own reactions to the disappointment of the failure to meet your own expectations.

We lost a game of football… It’s disappointing… We didn’t play as well as we’re capable.

I can handle that without feeling the need to sack the manager, replace the owner or bring in a new assistant. 👍

There have been some good games , some
Really poor ones and some that were just bang average . And there is the problem - consistency.

We didn’t play well vs Northampton but ground out a win .

Today was awful for the whole match . We should be pressing these teams and having a go from the start - but we just passed back and side ways , followed by hoofing it to Beesley who won nothing in the air .

Dembele look exhausted from kick off and completely out of his usual character .

Second half not much changed . Lavery had a good work rate but desperately needs a goal and some confidence in front of goal . CJ did zero when he came on . Joseph missed a great free header .
To be fair , Wigan set up excellent defensively and we just could not find a way .
Unfortunately, play offs would not be deserved , however we are still in it - but can’t see past Lincoln at the moment
A reasonable assessment but play offs would be deserved if we make because we'll have more points than 7th place 👍.

We seem to be reluctant to have a shot at goal when there's one on and even then, our strikers aren't getting enough shots on target, or better still, goals. I'd sooner see Morgan in the side than Norburn. Norburn is always instrumental in that passing back bollox and Morgan passes forward and gives the forwards something to run onto, plus he's not scared to have a shot at goal himself. I hope as soon as he's fit, they are swapped.

Norburn as captain should set the tempo
He should be screaming at others to make runs and do the occasional driving run himself, we see none of that

He's captain because he's the most senior player in a position to influence. Doesn't mean he's the best captain, plus a winning team breeds captains.

Norburn, as captain, should do as his boss tells him! Given that his boss continues to play him as captain suggests that he's doing what his boss asks! ☹️

You defend Critchley when performances are indefensible and have also said you thought Appleton and McCarthy were the right calls last season. Enough said.
What has any of that got to do with the post that you chose to write the incorrectly spelled word ‘Deluded’ in response to though ?

Not unreasonable. Take stock at end of the season…….. then get rid.

Are you a passionate lover Bifster or do you prefer to hang up your trousers and fold your socks before you get down to it?

But you are happy cheery chappy whatever the result, all is good in your tangerine world of mediocrity and attention

Does anyone genuinely see one that’s worth persevering with ?
I know we’ve had criticism on the podcast for being negative however we just want the best for the team and as I see it Critchley needs to be far more adaptable in game
When he was he had an experienced no2
I don’t think in all my years I’ve been as apathetic for Blackpool. It’s a total borefest. Got offered a ticket for Burnley v Brentford today, thoroughly enjoyable game, both sets of players giving absolutely everything they had, really entertaining.
Sick of wasting my Saturday and money being bored Crutchless. I thought it was an entertainment business, not on the Gold Coast it aint anymore.

Will Simon Sadler realise what we are all saying soon though? Been a total waste of a season yet in his interview the other week he said that he was enjoying it 🙄

However bad or ineffective we were today was simply down to the fact Wigan arent a bad team. The two black lads (dont know their names) were sharp and caught my eye. Their defence was solid and cant remember a decent header we won (but we lump balls in their direction) to head away. Dont think its anyones fault apart from the fact we just arent good enough. This side is not a promotion seeking/ winning side and with our top scorer limping off, we are goosed and any sane supporter must see this.
Regroup for next season, however hard and go again.

Don't get hung up on what's said in public. He'll be considering what's gone on and what to do, if anything.

His next move, even if it means no action will tell you exactly where we are heading. I dare not say his ambition, doh!!

I'll be brutally honest and say I wish SS has another partner/investor, whatever, as what he has taken on must be a huge diversion of his attention, probably not needed,

Cant see him removing Critchley Mosser, stuck with this boring muppet for another season me things.

What who is all saying ?

Fans have a broad range of opinions mate and a lot of them will change depending on the result / weather.

SS can’t make sensible decisions based on the whims of supporters, he’s got to rise above that and take a more considered view, based on the advice of his team.

I’ve spoken to plenty of people who aren’t caught up in this neg-fest and they have enjoyed this season too. I don’t think it’s been anywhere near as bad as some would have us believe…

I’ve found it more frustrating than anything else, but we’re still in the mix and it’s likely we will be until pretty late in the day.

It can take time after a relegation…. Often you’ve got dead wood that needs to be cleared out, players who might not quite be fully committed etc…

We’re probably just a little bit short in terms of our squad depth.

It‘snearly all over — not worth debating

I was until India’s the train faresgoing to give the Club one last chance for this season but at £120 return I’ll be praying some where cheaper !

I'd take that with a large pinch of salt Mosser. Just looking to present a positive outlook in public I would guess? Everyone knows we should be furher up this league.

Poor sides? Peterborough and Bolton?

Today was disappointing, but anyone who says we were second best is just wrong.

We could and should have had at least a point.

They had one shot on target all day, and Grimshaw had absolutely nothing to do.

Obviously, we should have done better from a number of chances we had, but Wigan got a lead then immediately started time-wasting. Nevertheless, Joseph and Lavery both missed great chances in the second half.

It wasn't great, but some of the nonsense on here tonight needs calling out for what it is. It's the same after every match we lose.

Did you enjoy our performance Wiz? I found it completely frustrating.

It's not a few recent games though, it's all season, particularly away games and every time we start to have optimism we revert to type. To predictable no plan b and plan a is launched again sides it's never going to work against.

4 people in the car you went to Wigan in today mate…… I know 2 and would probably bet money of 3 of them wanting rid of the snake

Yes we were, they scored a goal and won, we didn’t….. it really is that simple even for you and your tangerine tinted spectacles
It's not at all. That's a very simplistic viewpoint.

You're the one saying it's boring and we need to be entertained. Wigan did fuck all in that respect.

No, not enjoyable, but by no means were we second best.
I'd say we were second best first half, we couldn't get near them and, for instance, poor old Beez looked like a kid playing centre forward against a Dad's eleven. Second half we were a bit better but, i think that had absolutely nothing to do with any intervention from the manager. It was due to their players tiring as the game wore on, particularly the young lads they fielded who had been outstanding first half. Our lack of a composed and capable finisher is a real worry, given that Jordan Rhodes looked in a bad way when he came off. Looks like all his luck came last year.
