It is with great sadness that I am announcing the death of Chris Lickiss, my best mate and lifelong Pool fan, aged 61. For those who did not know him he worked closely with Ash and our Community Trust whilst head of Armfield Academy. Indeed it was Chris who fought to give the school its name when others were sceptical. He leaves behind his wife Jo 2 daughters and beloved grandchildren, all of whom have been loving and brave over the last 2 years of Chris’ illness. Please raise a glass for a wonderful man, a proud husband, father, grandfather, Pool fan, and great friend. You will be always in our hearts

Really sad day this.
Everyone who met him loved Chris, one of the very best guys and very passionate about improving the lives of children, making life better in education within the town, wanting only the very best for our community Trust and football club.
We have lost a great man.
Condolences to all the family and friends of Chris... Love to you all 🧡

RIP a friend and fellow Seasider 💔🧡x

WPC has asked me to post the following……

From the day my youngest daughter walked through the gates at The Armfield Academy for an open night Mr Lickiss made her feel very welcome. He obviously came over to me to talk about Blackpool FC and on knowing who her dad was always made a point of checking on my daughter every day until the day he left. It wasn’t something he had to do while being in charge of 9 f cat schools. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for my daughter at Armfield and she moved to Montgomery which was another of his cat f schools. It was just after that that he sadly had to retire but she is now flourishing at Montgomery. RIP Mr Lickiss, you will never be forgotten 🧡

PNE fan in peace. Chris was my boss at Ashton for 8 years and never let professional disagreements get in the way of footy banter. Went into his office to fight my corner the day before a derby and he started singing "Seasiders!". On his last day I went into his office in one of your shirts and a pig mask and asked him if he could help me find my donkeys. He took it all in good part. Measure of the man. R.I.P. Chris.
