And people get all frothy about a bloody badge on a shirt...

Nope not having this.

Last time I raised the piss poor performance of water companies and particularly United Utilities, Lost showed us all that thanks to the regulator and the government leadership, our water companies are performing well above what is expected of them.

I've been angry about this happening, particularly when it's into the sea around the Fylde coast.

But what is the genuine alternative for when it floods and overloads the system? What needs to be done to stop it?
I think what has come out from Ofwat and the High Court case is that they have been spinning us a line (Noooo.....)

They are not just doing it when it rains heavily, they are doing it year round, even when it is in drought conditions with very low river flow, which of course concentrates it.

Bin em, nationalise them and prosecute the directors. I heard a spokesman saying they have spent their capital on the wrong things. Too right, dividends and loan interest.

I could understand in an overflow situation but not whenever.

Even then in this day and age there should be better solutions.

Then again, go and the beach and you might be reunited with an old friend...

Not seen Lost lately I wonder if he’s been discharged with the sewage. 😳

n that they will say they need to spend xbillion pounds and will have to raise bills. Followed the next year by announcements of record profits and dividends! Rinse and repeat. Absolutely needs nationalising as there is no choice to go and get your water from another supplier.
Other than Evian😉

Bottled water. Biggest con of all time.

Water filtrated through rocks for millions of years, then a sell by date of October. Go figure.

Pity there’s no choice either where to send your 💩 I can think of a few recipients.

One of the very rare topics where virtually everybody seems to be in agreement.
I also read that as a result of the UK leaving the EU the government is going to allow agricultural and chemical pharmaceutical companies to drop standards and contaminate the water to a greater degree with their waste!
Our politicians and the democratic system isn't looking after most of us, it's an illusion that benefits politicians and their benefactors.
It's a small thing but I'm cancelling my direct debit and I'm going to make united utilities waste time, effort and resources to get my money.
Nobody should profit from water, its a basic necessity, the environment shouldn't be damaged in the pursuit of easy profit.

Excellent speech by Keir Starmer this morning. He was launching the Labour local election campaign in Dudley. One of his core messages is that politicians are elected to serve the public but over the period of this Tory Government they have been serving themselves instead.

I like the sentiment, and I understand Labour being very conservative in the run up to an election but I will reserve judgement on this.
If they announce some bold, ambitious and achievable policies that will benefit most of us then they might get my vote, although it's almost worthless in reality!
I'd also like to hear them say they are scrapping some of the nonsense such as the Rwanda thing but I don't think they will.
If they said they were going to renationalise water I think most people would be good with that might even secure my vote!

Obviously I'm voting Labour but I would say to the floating voters - give them a chance. We've seen what the only alternative is like and it ain't pretty.

And they put it in a plastic bottle, that's healthy!!

Well the last Labour leader to propose renationalisation was branded a scruffy Communist, despite warning against Putin while everyone else was taking the cash.

So let me get this right...

Labour are being very Conservative.

The Conservatives want more hard Labour.

They both want to Reform.

Show this to Tory types and they have nothing to defend, hence none of them have.

** wankers, they'll be in tears over a cross on a shirt but couldn't give a fuck that the country's infrastructure is owned by foreign concerns, patriots my arse.

So come on patriotic Tory voters, the floor is yours...
I’ve never voted labour and I won’t do next time.
However if they are the next government and they do a good job I’ll be happy.
Country before party I say.

Anything that is kept in a plastic bottle or container can suffer from leakage of the chemicals used to manufacture the bottle/container which will then be ingested by the drinker which can affect the immune system. Probably the reason for a sell by date.

One of the reasons that, should you keep a plastic bottle full of water in your car,it should be changed at least monthly.
