MP 'compromised'

William Wragg MP. Met someone on Grindr, and was then blackmailed into giving a dozen MPs phone numbers to avoid compromising images being published.

He's a Tory, but that's not relevant really.

Just how stupid are these people?

Obviously not a massive security risk. 🤔

You’d have thought with growing acceptance of diversity and particularly homosexuality that this type of story would be a thing of the past by now?

Does anybody really care if someone declares they’re straight or gay these days? I’d be a damn sight more concerned at their views and voting record over who they want to spend their life with.

I agree Chunky that nobody really cares about sexual orientation nowadays.

However to me it is not really about that, but about standards in public office.

The MP appears to have compromised himself in some way and made himself vulnerable.

He is therefore a liability, and probably unfit for high office.

Whatever happened to `noblesse oblige`?

He is another Nasty Party MP who has already declared that he is standing down at the forthcoming election! How many does that make?
Add on all the cabinet members who will also lose their seats and better days are on the horizon!

It's not about whether he's gay or not, it's the fact he sent dick pics to someone he hadn't physically met. For a person in high office, it's the complete lack of judgement.

but in parliament theres still a large proportion (particularlyamong the tories and toryesque) who still believe that homosexuality should be made illegal or their rights be seriously curtailed under law.

The funniest bit was at least two MP's responded with dic pics, I thank God this stuff wasn't around when I was growing up.

It’s not even just that. He clearly got caught in a honey trap yet to try and save his own neck he gave the blackmailers the names of 10 other MPs. I couldn’t care less whether someone is gay or not but it’s no one’s business but theirs whether they want to go public except theirs and what he did was despicable. Giving out fellow MPs phone numbers is a security breach above all else.

MI5 have a special department to deal with attempted blackmail. He really is the stupidest cowardly man and should be suspended immedietally

He sent compromising pictures of himself to somebody that he met on a dating app.
Stupid behavior but most adults would think it's not the worst thing in the world. Surely you get the security services involved and take down the blackmailers even if you may end up being embarrassed
Compromising the security of your colleagues is unforgivable.
