A simple graphic that shows the chances of the Pool making the playoffs!

The Madejski is an awkward one to need a win at.

Our form looks the strongest of the chasing pack though!

All 4 to win. 😂

We’ve got a tough game and away from home we are less formidable. However we are Pool. This is what we do. I imagine our rivals won’t be happy at all to see us still here and in with a chance. V

If we win and the other three do no better than draw, we finish 5th.
If we win and any one of the other three wins, we finish 6th.
Either way, we could meet Derby, Bolton or Peterborough in the play-off semis.
If we do no better than draw, we are out of it.

We will be going into the final game under the least pressure than the other 3 IMO with it being out of our hands, we just need to win.

Play like we did for the first 60 mins yesterday, score first & the Reading protestors will turn nasty & sour the atmosphere.
Their players will respond by saying **** it, I'm on my holidays tomorrow you whinging **** and if you can't support us, I can't be ars**.
Pool go on to win comfortably.
Two of Oxford, Barnsley or Lincoln bottle it & we slot into a play-off position.
Job done!

Simples.😁

Pleased a win for us and a draw for Barnsley would take their place. I think that and hoping Barnsley can be arsed are our best chance.

Hope it plays out for us. The old cliche about already on the beach could apply to Portsmouth though. As yesterday's result suggests.
They have been on the p1ss all week and there manager said as much, he added we will be back in terms of mentality and physicality next week. 🤞

Bookies not really sticking their necks out. Such a shame that Pompey don't need anything from that game but would like to think players pride will come in to it. I'd say Oxford have the toughest task whilst who knows if Barnsley may have the most nerves - their fans turned on them very quickly yesterday!

Just been reading the Pompey have 14 out of contract players and so maybe a bit of change and a final chance for them to flourish or impress new clubs on Saturday?

There's 81 different combinations of results (note these aren't taking into accounts the actual odds). Of these there are 20 scenarios where Blackpool make the play-offs and 2 freak scenarios which need Lincoln and Oxford to lose heavily if Blackpool only draw. The take home message is Blackpool have to win and then hope.

It would be the freakiest of freaky if we draw and finish 6th. Lincoln would have to lose by 10 goals.

How I see it:

Oxford won't win and so end on 75
Barnsley struggle but get a point and end on 76
Lincoln beat Portsmouth and end on 77
We beat Reading and end on 76 but scrape in on goal difference,

What is interesting is the form guide. In the last 6 rounds of games 2 of Oxford, Lincoln and Barnsley have won on only 2 occasions so recent history tells us it’s statistically more likely than not that a win for the ‘Pool would see us on the top 6

Have faith fellow Seasiders 🧡

I've got this horrible premonition that everything works out for us iro Barnsley, Lincoln and Oxford whilst we play badly and get stuffed by Reading.

its literally party time at Reading FC. Fans are united as one. Major billionaire owner and group is about to take over. They adore the manager and what has been achieved this year. 20,000+ in attendance. Quite possibly the worst time to be playing them.

Think i read somewhere since December they would be sitting about 6th in the table.

I actually think it's a good thing that there is going to be a big crowd and they'll will come out to play. Portsmouth away was one of our best performances and the Madjeski is a big cavernous stadium and has all the atmosphere of the Moon when it is half full. The fact that we have to win is a good thing as we are at our best when we're on the front foot.

If, we score early it’s game on. Barnsley and Lincoln will become riddled with nerves. Us and Oxford will be playing on the front foot and will both glide into the play offs.
