Lockdown some good news

I know we have a few on here who like me love fishing.

The Angling Trust have just announced after speaking to Government officials late into the night that Angling/Fishing will be allowed during this 3rd lockdown.

It is acceptable from a point of both exercise and on mental health grounds to go fishing on your own or with anyone within your household either from the shore or boat fishing, it’s also acceptable to fish from river, lake, canal, pond, providing all social distance measures are adhered to.

You are limited to fish only within your areas and not allowed to drive several hours to fish in another area however all night fishing remains off limits for the time being.

Great news Boris, getting gear ready for tomorrow already. 👍🎣

The Angling Trust has confirmed that fishing will no longer be permitted after Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement of a third national lockdown on Monday.
The sport had previously been allowed to continue in areas under tier 3 and tier 4 restrictions and had operated since May last year throughout lockdown, when anglers were required to follow the Rule of Two.
However, after consultation with the government, The Angling Trust were informed that fishing will follow the likes of golf and tennis in being banned throughout the third national lockdown.

Who to believe?

Alternatively, for a similar exercise experience, try lifting your fat ass out of your armchair once an hour, wave your arms about for twenty seconds, then sit back down and reach for another beer.

On a similar note, there is an interesting change of view at my golf club. There is still the main view that one can have a walk with your mate but not play a round of golf with him/her. There is now an increasing view that we should not keep looking for "loopholes" and just buckle down and stay at home. I genuinely feel more people are following the guidelines than in previous lockdowns.

If you are outdoors on your own, it seems harsh to ban it but you see some young lads fishing near us sat together, 2 or 3 inside a small tent, smoking so that wouldn't exactly be safe from a Covid point of view.
