Noticed it didn’t show the most blatant penalty appeal ever on Varney. I’ve still not got over that one !!!
 
Don't forget the bit where Fergie got Charlie Adam booked. Charlie fouls someone, the game goes on, Fergie marches forward onto the pitch and remonstrates with Walton - Charlie booked! 🤨 🏝️

Blackpool weren't blown away as the commentator would have you believe.

If that penalty was given just after half time (and if Adam had scored) there was no way in this world that the mancs would have come back from 3 down.

Another instance where the decision went against Blackpool and it ended up relegating them😡
 
I remember most of that game but the last 20 minutes is still somewhat a blur, due to miscalculating the strength of Warsteiner & wine from a freebie in hospitality, frankly I was a mess & struggled to get the key in the car (just joking) the front door actually. I made a conscious decision after that not to try to keep up with other people let alone drink more & up to know it's worked. It will be interesting to see how I fare at the rescheduled ex work Christmas piss up come leaving do come lockdown easing etc. probably in July at this rate.
 
I was at work down South that night. No way out of it. Managed to get to a pub to watch the second half. To see the wife cheater stood on the line ready to come on. And it went downhill from there. Never watched the full game, or I might put my foot thro the telly when it comes to the penalt.

I like to think that Lord Justice Smith's assessment of the wedge owed to Belokon would have been that much higher had we have had one extra Prem season.

Very true. At the time, you're gutted over relegation, but in the longer term, it forced Valeri into court action and ultimately, the sale of the club.

We start again but with a much stronger foundation.

Exactly. Great memories but the removal of the oystons and the arrival of Sadler will turn out to the best legacy of our premier journey

I usually keep an open mind when supporters bemoan decisions that go against their club, but to not give a penalty for that was staggering. Walton analyses refs on BT Sport. Whenever they discuss a bad penalty decision, they should benchmark against this for him to view time and again and discuss whether the new decision is as bad.

Every time they go to him about reffing decisions i send a tirade of abuse to him much to the chagrin of my wife who somehow believes i should have let it go by now....!
